Tampa missed so many chances to end it in OT. Like completely missed the net. So many times Khudobin just watched the puck go wide. You just knew since Tampa was dominating but not cashing in Dallas would score a squeaker and Perry obliged lmao. I still think Tampa wins this series but it might take 7. They're clearly the more talented team but Dallas just won't die.

Gotcha. I meant the start of this series. They were around +150 to win it

oh, i was not aware. Threw some cash on them b/c of last years Blues series. No Tarasenko so thought, maybe. Besides the Super Bowl, I rarely bet on anything. With no sports for so long i tried to make interesting. Sure has worked lol

I wonder if his career is in jeopardy. Just seems very odd with the timing and how long he has been dealing with it. Really would need to be seriously injured to stay out of a SCF game. Anyway really sucks for Stamkos if he cannot be part of the win on the ice.

He’ll accept the cup. He played a game and scored a goal. He’s a huge part of it all.

doubt it. He needs to let his injury heal properly, that’s all.

Didn't realize it but Corey Perry has a quite a trophy collection

Cup winner, World Champs Winner, Olympic Gold Medalist, World Cup of Hockey Winner (lol), World Juniors Winner, CHL Memorial Cup Winner (and MVP of that), a Hart, and a Rocket Richard.
I remember watching that Memorial Cup tourney on TV and Perry played like he was possessed . Dan Girardi and Brandon Prust also on that championship club .

And that first round by Anaheim is the prototype for what you hope for as a fan. Come away with two impact players, and the type of guys you can win with in the playoffs.

Neither Getzlaf nor Perry were the highlight reel, blow you away with skills type prospects in their draft class.

That Anaheim 2007 Cup team was downright NASTY...Pronger-Perry-Getzlaf-Beauchemin-Thornton -Parros-May-O'Donnell...that is a lot of grit on a club . Kunitz can also be mentioned in that category ....

Tampa still feels like a team that...isn't quite built for the playoffs.

Two bounces go differently and Dallas actually would've won this series already.

But Tampa just has so much depth of higher-end talent. On the one hand, its a testament to that talent that they can sustain injuries and carry on. On the other hand, it kind of feels like a fighter who is surviving off punching power than boxing skill.

So part of me wonders if timing and the opponent make this kind of a one-off for them.

If they don't do it this year their window is gonna start to close fairly rapidly outside of them finding trade partners for big contracts.

Fascinating how many Ranger fans hate a player who was bought out and now gets his sweet revenge. It's not as if he walked away from his team or anything in free agency refusing to sign

I think it is also the feeling he wasn’t in great shape to begin with, and that he still sucks quite often, but is being carried by a team that can mask it.

People always tend to react funny when it feels like someone is viewing the promised land by standing on the shoulders of giants.

That series was the end of Wade Redden, he was so good that playoffs up until he got hurt in that series but he was never the same after and their grit and ability to wear down Ottawa's d was the reason they won.

Credit to Dallas for playing them hard. It's true other than Point and Killorn Tampa doesn't have that kick you in the gut killer instinct most winning teams have. Dallas seems to have more clutch but we'll see if it's enough.

He can really fling the puck against the endboards though

If you listen to NHL network radio, they often have Brian Burke on the show and he talks about that team a lot and how he built it in his image.

T R U C U L E N C E.

Having a hall of fame 1st D pairing doesn't hurt either.

Must be playing through a ton of pain to be only able to play a couple minutes during the game. Could told the coach that he was ready to play, adrenaline took over but wore off once he realized he’d be a detriment to the team.
