Honestly, it doesn't matter who wins, just as long as it happens in regulation. There are pros to both.

I buy out Staal and Lundqvist this summer and resign Georgiev. That’s about 3 million in added space.

cap goes up another 3 million.

I pay DeAngelo 5 mil per on a bridge deal. So 4 mil raise. Figure a wash on the Skjei money

that’s about 11mil when u factor in kreiders raise And you need 10 for eichel next season. We already have some cap space sitting there as is that we’ve carried all year.

the following year we get a ton of breathing room to sign rfas. Cap goes up again. It’s a 2 year window wirh Mika on the cheap. I think by that point regarding the cap we’re fine.

? - ? - Gauthier
Lemieux - Howden - Getts

The “?” are where I think they would need to make sacrifices and play less players.
They would also need to get creative on the blue line.

I don’t think it would get us further than a deeper lineup on the current course.

It would take Chytil. Strome does fit the Buffalo mold though. Overpaying a decent player.

We'd have to shed massive cap for that.

I'm still holding out for McDavid in a year or two. At this point maybe even Draisatl wants to get out from the North Pole... who would ever want to play in Edmonton
