no ambiguity, the Rangers gave up a young forward who displays both power and finesse. He’s added some much needed grit said Cooper down in Tampa. Heavy on the puck and boards b/c of his size.

As good as Miller is in Vancouver, he didn't really work out in Tampa either. He was on the 4th line a lot. He finally put it together, not unlike Duclair. Players sometimes just need time to hit their potential/ceiling. Miller never reached his in NY for reasons unknown to us

He was moved for cap issues as I understand it. His ice time dropped last year on that All-Star team yet was still a plus 8. Come playoff time the whole team failed.

He was gone at 24 years under AV who appears to have a short leash with kids. I’ll never understand it. One of the few #1 draft choices the org even had for years and they give up on kid with the size for the boards, good wheels, good shot, nice passer at 24 years of age.

DuClair, yeah he was another one. Written off by three or four teams by age 23.

Miller is an optimal environment for him to succeed.

He's surrounded by high skill players who can dictate the flow of play, and he doesn't have to overthink the play --- someone else can handle the thinking.

He's also in a situation where is mental lapses, and trust me they are very much still there, aren't quite as big of an issue yet. Partly because everyone there is just happy to have a winning hockey team again, partly because their young players are new and exciting and so there's no "what have you done for me lately?" resentment, and partly because they haven't yet reached that stage where everyone is "expecting" them to win and looking at them through a microscope.

Every single one of those factors plays to Miller's advantage. You put him on a lot of other teams, and it's probably a different story.

I am one of those people who finds remarkable similarities between Miller and Strome. Both guys are roughly the same age, and in situations that maximize their strengths and minimize their weaknesses.

It would be interesting to see where we would be if the NHL was using a 3-2-1 point system.

Metropolitan division would look like this:

WSH: 108
PIT: 106
CAR: 100
PHI: 99
CLB: 96
NYI: 94
NYR: 93
NJD: 73

Atlantic:

BOS: 121
TBL: 117
FLA: 97
TOR: 96
BUF: 82
MTL: 81
OTT: 69
DET: 46

Lol, Dreger is so bad at his job
Most of the insiders have been bad for like...the past year or two. Even McKenzie.

They are a far far cry from someone like Passan or Woj. Even when they were decent.

Chris Johnston is the only real insider right now, and even then...

McKenzie is pretty much mailing it in right now and I’m kind of all for it because he’s not pretending that he isn’t.

I think it’s really tough for hockey insiders to be on the level of other guys in other sports because hockey culture is so stupid and wants everything to be insular and secret
