Around the NHL: Part XVII - Season’s Greetings

Rangers should have kept Ryan Graves and gave him a legit shot. I always had a gut feeling he'd be an NHL player even as a 5th 6th type. I dont get why they didn't. Stupid decision by Rangers management in my opinion.

Maybe. 3rd pairing guys aren't worth too too much. Think how little it cost the Rangers to get guys like Holden, Eminger, Claesson over the years.

Even some of the best NHL teams usually only have a really solid top 4. The third pairing is pretty much always mediocre at best. No one thinks Seigenthaler-Jensen is making the difference for the Caps

Thats what happens when theres no room because youve got slugs with bad deals blocking you.

Staal and the other bad contracts we had a few yrs back did him in
 
Another early goal given up by AV and the Flyers. Sounds familiar. Voracek tied it. Underrated player. What was the Bluejackets thinking in trading him.

Avs dodged a bullet tonight as Hornqvist took NMack out and flipped him over with what looked like a knee to knee but it ended up being a hip to thigh..

Tho it took him about half a period to shake things off, thankfully for us Mack owners, he ended up being his usual great self...phewww.

I tell ya Grubauer looks like he's the real deal and could certainly end up a Top 10 goalie this year if not threaten Top 5 status when all is said and done. Always knew he had potential when he played for Holtby but now he's really taking off as is that entire Avalanche team. Seeing I'm a Grubauer and Mack owner, I'm all aboard the 'Lanche choo choo train.

so you'd rather have him in the lineup over Hajek?

he wasn't getting an opportunity here with our young LHD prospects...we could have kept him around as a depth guy in the AHL and call up but instead did the right thing for him and sent him to a team that would give him a chance. obviously you can't do that all the time but it does send a positive message to other guys in hartford.

2015-2018 Graves was in the organization. This doesnt have to do with Hajek. We had Dan Boyle Dan Girardi and Yandle in 15-16 on the roster but yet Skjei and Graves played

for Hartford that year and only a 7 point differential. Graves didnt get 1 NHL game.

AV blames ryan strome. strome moved to the 4th line.

lets remember we were 1-1 with these guys with 10 mins left in the 3rd

After watching the Penguins/Avs game I don't feel so bad about our D game.
Penguins kept getting caught pinching like 100 times and I didn't even watch the whole game.
