Christmas of 1989 I was 15 years old and my big gift that year from my parents was a Brett Hull St Louis Blues jersey from Gerry Cosby. At that time I didn't even have a Rangers Jersey. Hull had just come on the scene and he was lighting up the NHL. Even though the Winnipeg Jets were my second favorite team I also adopted the Blues and I've always had a rooting interest for them over the years.

I pulled that. Jersey from Storage yesterday and I'm going to wear it tonight, still fits though tight around the waist.

First writing I ever did for hockey's future was in 1998 about the newly-formed Trenton Titans of the ECHL. The coach was a very young Bruce Cassidy. Eventually one of the goaltenders was Steve Valiquette. One of my co-workers was season ticket holder right up against the glass to the right side of the home goal. She eventually became good friends with Cassidy and the goaltenders including valiquette we all had a dinner at her house their last name was Goldberg and they were flyer fans which if anybody knows the show The Goldbergs you can understand the irony.

So no matter who wins tonight I will feel happy in part to either side, oh I do admit I want to see the Blues win, that fanbase has waited a long time I think we know one or two things about that.

I have a couple of close friends who are Bruins fans and yeah they're going to be cocky as f*** if the Bruins win but I would think they already know it's not going to make a whole lot of difference to me--I'm still going to tell them their team sucks before they even get a chance to open their mouths and I'm going to reiterate that theme any and every time I see them--that's been the way it's been forever and there's no point changing tack now.

Probably just spoiled from the team making deep playoff runs recently

but since the rebuild and the season ending at game 82 I've found myself thinking, "Goddamn this whole thing goes on for a long time" lol.

Mid June and we will still watch hockey tonight.

The last three days in particular have been ridiculous. If you want to go 2-2-1-1-1, that's fine, but then you DEFINITELY have to limit it to one day off between games.

Living in enemy territory is rough. Watched a few Final games at Boston bars with friends who are Bruins fans, and I keep having to pretend that I'm not rooting for the Blues so I don't get sh*tkicked by goons in scally caps. Luckily, I'll be safe at home tonight with my cat, haha.

Rangers season ended 68 days ago LOL

I am WELL into the offseason

It feels like such a long time ago. It's strange to think that this (not making the playoffs) used to be the norm for the Rangers during the dark ages and I kind of just got used to it.

Tonight's the night for that Blues fan who bet on them to win it all back when they were in last place.

Hate to say it but I don't think Blues are going to be able to stop the momentum the Bruins gained by winning game 6. Game 6 was the Blues chance to win this series and they blew it. 4-2 Bruins.

If there’s momentum for the Bruins from that win, it’ll be gone after 5 minutes. Also the Blues have been way better on the road than at home.

That said I’m not really confident in calling it either way

I was looking forward to watching the intro music video for the game as much as I was looking forward to thw start of the game.

Let's go game seven!!

I watched David Portnoy at Barstool give his pizza review today and ended up thinking I hope this motherf***er loses tonight--when it comes to sports he's an absolute idiot.
