I don’t think it matters, personally. Hintz is probably up around 27 MPH when he picks up the puck. In slo-mo he has it for about 1.5 seconds; in real time it’s probably .7 seconds from picking it up to firing that shot. He’s massive and he flies. He had an open lane and the puck came right to him on a fortuitous play. Everyone was caught flat footed. Hintz was the one who broke it out behind his own net and he was building speed up all the way down the ice in a straight line when the puck bounced out right in a perfect line for him gather it and snap it home.
The forward who was tracking back was just a step slow to read the play developing and then blows a tire to cap it off. Dallas executed perfectly

Correct. Hockey has so many of these micro events happening 24/7, it’s one of the things that irks me about picking out bad moments like this insoltotio. Now granted, we know Lindgren has disintegrated, and with established players over substantially large sample sizes you can still develop a picture of who is on the ice making gaffs more often than others. But in an instance like this goal, in isolation, I truly don’t believe it would have mattered if it was Makar, Lindgren or Slavin. Maybe 6’9 Chara gets a stick on that puck. Otherwise, you have an extremely fast (top 1%) large forward at top speed picking up a loose puck that’s already in a high danger spot and letting it go within < 1 second of receiving it.

Winnipeg power play looking good even without Scheifele. Just basic ass movement and circling the zone and working it down low every time the PK cheats up high. It’s not that complicated

Barron ties it.

He's become a solid NHLer

Edit. that's not going to count. That was miles offside

Always liked Barron. Another guy who had a chorus of black pillers telling me he sucked.

Copp trade was a little unlucky because he was great for us until he got hurt the last week of the season in 2022. Earned him a bigger contract but he hasn’t been the same. I felt like he could’ve been a Lehkonen/Barbashev type for us if things shook out different
