The NBA Spurs got fined for doing this earlier in the season. The competitive balance seems upset by doing this. The Hawks earned it and the game means NOTHING to them, but the game still means a LOT to the Blues.

The NBA is stupid for levying a fine against the Spurs. Basically the team should be allowed to run things however they want. It's their season and their personnel. The NBA should have stayed out of it. If the NHL did the same things I'd be pissed about that too.

And last game Backes ran Toews twice with questionable hits. No point in risking his health or any other players health

In 1997 our idiot coach (Craig Hartsburg) rested a ton of guys but not Alex Zhamnov near end of year. Zhamnov got hurt and missed playoffs (Hawks lost in 1st round to Avs in 6)

I hear ya. I wasn't criticizing your point but its a pretty lame thing. If the NBA wanted to do something positive they could have refunded the fans their money OR let me attend another game for free. It's not like it would have hurt the bottom line.

Did the Spurs have an obligation to play FOUR of their starters in Miami???
