So none of you guys see the point total difference from season to season ..... hmmmmm

0.80 PPG
0.62 PPG
1.02 PPG
1.19 PPG
1.08 PPG
1.35 PPG
1.13 PPG
0.77 PPG
0.93 PPG
0.56 PPG (currently)

What I see is a guy who scored over a PPG for 5 consecutive seasons after he established himself in the NHL. I see a year of a dip, followed by a resurgence, followed by a bigger dip. Nothing in that record shows an alternating pattern of good seasons and bad in his career as a whole.

I can count 5 straight effective seasons even with injuries in that. Everyone who uses this argument always says, "check the stats" even though they prove everything to the contrary.

the season he score 13 goals and 23 points in just 17 games......he would of been on pace for 100+ Points. Therefore....i don't put too much emphasis on the one on and one off Gabotrick roller coaster

It's also reinforcing the model/trend that players peak at 26-27 now in this league.

I wonder if there's some confusion here with Prospal.

Beginning in 2002-03
0.99 PPG
0.66 PPG
0.99 PPG
0.67 PPG
0.87 PPG
0.55 PPG
0.77 PPG

That's alternation.

Hoping for a Slugs win tonight. Keep the Piles in 8th. As long as we don't play Pittsburgh we have a chance. Hoping for Boston but Washington will do.

1.The fewer number of games played (i.e., superior points percentage).

2.The greater number of games won, excluding games won in the Shootout. This figure is reflected in the ROW column.

3.The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs. If two clubs are tied, and have not played an equal number of home games against each other, points earned in the first game played in the city that had the extra game shall not be included. If more than two clubs are tied, the higher percentage of available points earned in games among those clubs, and not including any "odd" games, shall be used to determine the standing.

4.The greater differential between goals for and against for the entire regular season. NOTE: In standings a victory in a shootout counts as one goal for, while a shootout loss counts as one goal against.

Listen you guys can say what you want but gabby was not the same player year after year ... There was always an excuse that you guys buy into ..

The fact is that we traded a European player for Canadian players which will step there game up for the cup because that is what they grew up wanting to win ... Not the Olympics for some third world country.

I actually liked gabby , I started to fully understand the player that he is which is if he is not scoring he isn't going to be doing much.

That is just the type of player that he is.

I'm sure all you guys will quote this and argue every fact but this isn't NHL 13 ...
You win with grit, heart and character not soft euros

I dislike Europeans too. Good thing the best player on our team for the last 8 years isn't European. Good thing some random Czech didn't break every offensive record in 05 to make us relevant again. Good thing a Swede isn't our most consistent D-man in Staal's absence.

I bet the Caps are sighing to themselves that their Russian Captain is going to win the Hart just like the Blue Jackets are upset that their goalie will win the Vezina. I can keep going if you'd like? Nonsense.

As good as Nash is when he's on, he floats as much if not more than Gabby did and is wholly content to sit on his ass when he gets knocked down in the offensive zone. Gaborik was the more consistent backchecker.

Nash has definitely been playing like **** lately, but I'd still take Nash's floating over Gaborik's. If Nash isn't scoring, he can still create chances, can be hard to remove from the puck, can do some nice dekes. Even yesterday, he created a nice rush that was only negated because he was tripped. It was a ******** non-call.

Right, at the end of the season ROW is the first tiebreaker.

Oh wow the caps captain is going to win the heart big deal . There gonna be out in the first round if not second round . They never done any damage when the playoffs pick up. With ovy, backstroke and semin ...

Jagr is also a different player , he played in an era that molded the type of player that he is . I have a lot of respect for that man . Along with gabby playing with a separated shoulder in the playoffs . But at the end of the day we got back 3 Canadian boys for a soft Czech. And to be honest I would make that trade any day going into the playoffs .

Btw you point to stralman as stepping his game up in staals absent . But how would this defensive corp look with all European defense man ? I'm not saying I don't want any Europeans on my hockey team I'm just saying I would prefer Canadian / North American players as the majority especially in the playoffs

Oh and btw I'm Swedish and Italian just in case anyone is wondering

There really should be a test before people are allowed to post opinions on the internet, and it should consist primarily of knowing the differences between "your/you're, there/their/they're, must have, could have, would have, should have vs. must of, could of, would of, should of."

It's actually driving me mad.
