Canuck’s GM making it sound fairly likely Pettersson is on his way out.

Kreider + Zib + Miller
For
Pettersson + Hoglander + Soucy

Is identical dollars in/out. Just saying.

Edit: starting next year when Hoglander’s extension kicks in, but he’s been on the block pretty publicly for a while for a change of scenery. Miller is RFA this summer, Soucy has some term left.
This is the equivalent of that Zlev dude’s proposal for Pettersson except from the Rangers perspective.

No way in any of the multiverses that Vancouver agrees to this trade. Pettersson doesn’t have a NMC and can be traded anywhere. There are 20 teams that would offer a better package than that!!

JT Miller on the other hand has a NMC and can pick his destination. I still think he could be had for a Zibanejad centered package assuming Mika waives his NMC…

Has anyone else heard whispers about a falling out between JT and Pettersen? (Apologies if already mentioned in thread).

Wife says there's "interesting" rumours coming out of Vancouver as to the reason behind it.

About a week or so ago Boudreau said they have been at odds with each other for a while. Didn't mention the reason though.

Late to the party, but why did Yzerman trade Wallman and a 2nd to San Jose for future considerations again?
I looked it up. This is what I found as an answer.

Yzerman wanted Walman gone, to clear cap space and maybe due to some other reasons. The Gibson prospect swap was something he viewed as a lateral trade with a free 2nd round pick sweetener. He flipped that pick right away to ship Walman out.

Future considerations got more than kap kak
When one of those picks (two and maybe three to four) becomes this generation's Sergei Zubov, we will revisit this.

Debs have been shut out a shocking number of times this season already
The Devils are in for a rude awakening come the playoffs. They're not going to have an easy time against Carolina or Washington.

Point stands..more for less. We got a 3 and 6...
At this point that's all they were getting. Kakko's value tanked.

Now comes the work.

Look at the McDonaugh/JT Miller trade....on the surface it was trash however besides keeping the Islanders from winning back to back Cups, if Noah Laba becomes a key part of that trade, and Perrault becomes a top 6er.....that trade will have worked out.

Same way the Rangers signing Guy Lafleur worked out with Sergei Zubov as the comp pick when they let him sign with the Nordiques.
