Awesome! I'll make my body aware of this. Cuz my 45-year-old body rode a bike around 10k miles that year and my slightly achy 57-year-old body is currently on a recumbent bike eating Doritos.

Mostly joking. My wife is age 27 and we're celebrating our 7th anniversary next month, we have two amazing daughters in grade school, and I feel great and love every bit of it.

Overall, I feel physically and mentally fantastic ... which I largely attribute to the Doritos.

Doritos are fine. If you get the taco flavored kind like I do that is actually a health food. Don't eat them while biking though. That is not safe.

The only reasonable scenario is they wanted to dump Hall for some reason. 1 year $6M on that contract. Kinda weird they just gave him away. The 3rd is purely for the retention.

That's what I'm saying. A 3rd for Hall AND 50% retention on Rantanen seems like a pretty weak return.

I've been pedaling slowly, maybe 9 or 10 mph, while watching Lord of the Rings. This movie has been running for what feels like 107 hours. I needed to eat at some point.

Hero lol. I know you're joking, but I'm as messy, broken, and crazy as everyone else.

I vacation/live in Asia a lot of the time and met her by chance. She and I clicked well and age disparity seems more commonplace and accepted over there. Not much more to it. I mostly mentioned her age as an illustration I don't feel old. I got married (2nd marriage) and had my first kids in my 50s and it's been a total blast.

If my wife were my age, I wouldn't feel any different. We have very similar values and outlooks and complement each other exceedingly well.

I know a lady from the Philippines who has a similar story. Love is love. Happiness is happiness. I'm glad you found it at 50. That is a great story imo!

Rantanen is a rental. That's a steep price to pay. He got traded because he wasn't taking less than MacKinnon on a long term deal in Colorado (12.6M per.) He wants the 14M that Draisatl got or more. Carolina's owner is notoriously cheap. Will they really offer 14M x 8 years for Rantanen? Not so sure but we'll see

How did Carolina's big rental work out last season? They still lost to us in Round 2.

I don't know if I don't like Colorado's end of this more than Carolina's. I think Taylor Hall has declined a lot the last 2/3 years. Rantanen's the best player in the deal but Necas is really really good and Jack Drury is probably a solid 2nd liner for years to come. Plus they get a 2nd and a 4th and if you weren't going to re-sign Rantanen anyway you got Necas for one more year and a good 3/4 more years of Drury anyway.

If the Canes get Rantanen to sign that's at least $10.5 and maybe more. They have Aho at 9750, Svechnikov at 7750, Jarvis at 7420, Slavin at 6396. That's about $43 mil tied up in 5 players with Rantanen giving them a team friendly.....which he might not do. They have 13 roster players for next year....a bunch of UFA's probably going out the door and I don't know if their goaltending situation is quite there with Kochetkov. He can be pretty good but he's not going to carry a team and it's best if he has a really D in front of him--something I wouldn't say the Canes have now and it might be worse next year.
