I'm curious how Vally figures that. Did he assume Detroit would go 15-8
I’m guessing it’s based on all 3 teams (NYR, DET, CBJ) having same strength of competition remaining within like hundredths of percentage points.

Homer-itis bias for sure. Columbus seems to be on a tear - 4 wins in a row. Have the Rangers had that yet this season?

Anyone have an updated “J Fresh WAR” chart on S Jones? His data was tanking when Chicago originally picked him up. Seems like Panthers got fleeced on this one…?

I hope Sorokin holds this over Igor for all of eternity lmao. Igor has tried so hard for so long, and he might eventually get one. But for now...Ilya has the bragging rights, even if he did jack shit to get it.

Panthers did get fleeced. Seth Jones isn't good, but GMs paying for reputation on this one. Blackhawks did good on this one.

4th round pick from 2019 Del Gazio scored his 1st NHL goal tonight while 2ed round pick from 2019 Matthew Robertson cant even get into an NHL game. How the hell did Robertson not develop after juniors? How does that happen, lack of smarts?

Big enough sample size yet on Kakko in Seattle?

Same player, which I firmly expect is what he’ll stay. Still can't score goals, with a little more padding on the much less meaningful assist stat.

For all the talk from some of the Kakko faithful of Kakko being a second liner and Borgen not being a second pair D (though none seem able to explain why), Seattle sure has fallen in the standings since the trade. Four points out wild card and almost a .500 team before the trade and now down to 5th worst team in the league.

I don't hate the kid and long-term it’s still probably a win-win trade filling needs for both teams. But replacing a 10-15 goal-a-season forward with 4 career playoff goals isn’t exactly difficult.

I'm surprised to read that because they seem to play a lot of bad teams. One thing I noticed is some of their wings seem to "cheat" a lot. What I mean by "cheat" is they often seem to leave their zone early looking for an offensive chance before possession is secured. I was wondering is that the players themselves or by design?

Sounds very familiar

I have no clue on their structure. I watched maybe 5 of their games since the trade with focus on Kakko. I'll generally catch a handful of games of former players to see how they look in different environments but don't pay too much attention beyond the ex-Rangers.

I have not watched that much but KK was one of the main guys I noticed leaking out early. Maybe by team design or maybe because he is playing for a new contract?

One thing that stands out watching Seattle is that they have very little skill but they play at such a quick pace, although that’s pretty much every NHL team besides the Rongos

I think they have a bit. Some young very high draft picks Bernier, Wright, etc. Other guys like Mccann, Jaden Schwartz and Eberle who can score. Not huge names but legit assets.
