Islanders lose their 5th in a row and DiPietro is still awful. Remember when they were a sleeper team?

We need to destroy them Thursday night.

I definitely don't hate DP as much as I used to. Sort of feel bad with his luck and how all those injuries really caught up to him.

Oh wow, Hamonic is pissed.

I'm just happy that I'll never, ever, have to hear an Islanders fan try to tell me that DP is better than Lundqvist ever again.

I lol'd at Hamonic breaking his stick.

Hope John Tavares requests a trade from the Islanders. Ship him far far West please.

People always fall for the same trick. Bad team wins few games at the end of the season when the pressure is off and all of a sudden they are poised for a breakout season/sleeper team/playoff contender etc.

Or put a gun to his head and force him to play for Rangers.

Hell I'll take one for the team.

Did anyone else see Tavares after the game? Guy was legitimately upset. Don't think I've seen that many times.

How long does he put up with the lack of talent around him before asking for a trade?

How about them Sharks. 5 straight losses after 5 straight wins to start the season.

Kids the face of the franchise, and he knows it. He's in a terrible situation though considering management isn't even going to attempt to be a contender until the move to Brooklyn.

It's really a tragedy the way the Islanders are run as a whole. Garth Snow is such a ****ing puppet.

I remember when an someone called the Islanders bad on this board and an Islanders fan flew off the handle and gave us reasons why they were better than the Rangers. Seems like just yesterday.

Exactly. Tavares is on an island on that team. Hamonic is good but extremely overrated and not even close to McDonagh as Islanders fans seem to think. I'd take MDZ over him too.

They need veteran leaders who know how to win (aka not Reasoner) and serious top 6 talent. Bailey and Okposo are lost.

But did you see the contracts Garth Snow set up for the future?!?!?!?!? Look at the bargains the Isles got with Andrew MacDonald, Frans Nielsen, Kyle Okposo and Matt Martin. :amazed:

Cap space >>>> Playoffs.

So tempted to bump that thread.

Also I'll wager that JT Miller becomes better than Strome and McIlrath better than Neiderreiter.

Yeah but those are BS contracts that are just there to get the Islanders to the floor for now. They all expire the same year, probably not a coincidence. Or were you not being sarcastic and I completely misread your post?

And at this rate, at worst they'll have another top - 10 pick this off-season.

Agree on McIlrath, disagree on Miller. I think Strome turns into a 1st liner.

Here comes another top 5 pick for the Fishsticks, in what is a loaded draft! Don't think they'll be bad enough for Jones or MacKinnon, but I could see Drouin or Barkov going to them.

The Islanders are veering dangerously close into Florida Panthers territory, where they're just in a non-stop rebuild.

It's one thing to draft high, it's another thing to draft high and develop those players.
