17 points in 6 games for Jack Hughes. Only McDavid is ahead of him at this point in terms of talent.

My guess would be trying to market to much younger crowd with Bedard in town. Perhaps a field trip opp for schools, game is a little earlier, get everyone out before the nuttiness of a Friday night on the strip.

I feel like Hughes and McDavid are really the only guys in the NHL who can dominate and create with their skating alone. Even a guy like Mackinnon just isn't on their level in terms of burst, edges, and creativity.
it's one reason I kinda shake my head at the idea of "see you just need to get great skaters!". Those guys are probably the best skaters to play the game this generation. Banking on finding another one of those is a fools errand and you'll never find them unless you're drafting #1 overall in the right draft anyways. Yeah I want great skaters but you're not gonna get those level of guys because they are absolute top tier generational talent skaters

MacKinnon is all burst.

I think Hughes skating is less explosive than MacKinnon, but he’s much smoother and the really underrated thing about Hughes is his IQ. I had his ceiling pegged as Barzal at best, because tbh I think Barzal is a better skater than Hughes , bigger , and has better hands.

But Hughes blows him away in hockey IQ and mentality. That’s why he’s far surpassed him. Hughes is constantly attacking towards the dangerous area, attacking the defense. Whereas Barzal will just wheel around the perimeter and hold the puck too long.

I've got to say, as much as following my favourite teams (Colorado and Rangers) brings me joy, almost as enjoyable is watching a tire fire in a Canadian market. Please hockey gods, let there always be at least one at any given time.

It's kinda sad that one of the Alberta teams has to win on Sunday. The Battle of L-berta.

ESPN talking about hockey on Around The Horn (don't ask) and they're using your girl @will1066

it was the only segment about it and it lasted about 60 seconds. terrible.

IQ is the most important tool in sports. in the nhl, it’s IQ then skating. look how good of a player fox is despite having no physical tools at all just because of his IQ. that’s why I’m actually excited for perrault. being smart can mask your physical deficiencies.

hiscier destroyed. Cliffton late head shot on Hiscier. Not that bad of a hit as far as headshots go. Hiscier down the tunnel.

It was a headshot but I didn't think he targeted the head. Hischier was bending over a bit...

maybe it's my bias though. Hopefully it's not serious

The Devils don't play defense well enough to be a threat in the playoffs. At least early in the season.
this is truly awful defense. vannacheck is saving their bacon right now. multiple odd man rushes, multiple breakaways this period alone.

right now the devils’ mantra is “a good defense is a good offense”. terrifying to play against tbh
