Jack Hughes with all those points, and a +- of 0. Plus minus isn't the be all end all, but for a player who is fine being out of position defensively to try and cherry pick, it does fit. Feast or famine 5 on 5. Keep the Devils off the PP. The Ovi defense.

Guy will score 35 goals on not a very good team and some will still say he's not a good player.
Put him on our third line right now or even top 6 when needed would be nice.

He's good at scoring goals.

Thats it.

Its not that there isn't value in scoring goals (there is since you can't win with out them) but he isn't scoring 35 on a good team because he isn't good enough at other things to get those minutes on a good team.

He had a decent run here but lets not try to pretend like he didn't have his pitfalls.

He would make our team worse.

Wish I could find the exact gif... the very next line after this would be my reaction to Frozen Frenzy.

Well the Devils PP is automatic at the moment

One look from the best angle at real speed, or basically what the linesman would see if he could be in the perfect position. If you can call it off from that one take (ie it's obvious) then fine, otherwise it's onside
Yeah. I don’t know the answer but something has got to change. Soon teams that are trailing are going to call for reviews just to rewind the clock and people will be like ‘we have to get it right’.
If the officials miss it, it’s close enough to ignore. If they can somehow get rid of the gimmick reviews, linesmen will err on the side of caution knowing there’s no review to back them up. And that’s fine.
I don’t mind an iffy offsides call. I do mind goals being taken off the board for non-consequential, irrelevant infractions.

I liked Vatrano when he was here but he isnt missed at all. He was born to score 35 on a last place team
Strome’s doppelgänger. Big when it doesn’t matter. (And I like both those guys).

This. Offside is a rule to prevent goal hanging. It’s a game flow management rule. It is not meant to be measured by the width of a :eek::eek::eek: hair.

I understand why it needs to be called black and white but I prefer the occasional badly missed call than the now very frequent millimeter correct calls. This isn’t in the spirit of the rule and we shouldn’t be invalidating relatively infrequent scoring events that people pay to see.

This applies to soccer as well. Maybe even moreso.

Him on the third line would not make this team worse. Small sample size but he was almost at a 30 goal pace with us

I'm not saying in anyway he should come back but he was good here and he cost us nothing.

What do you guys think about this….

A plan for long term success is always a good idea

Bedard with a rocket one timer from the slot. Looked very Laf-esque.

Edit, this joke of a league overturned it on an offside. Athanasiou left a ball hair on the blue line. The only angle was grainier than the Zapruder film, but they decided it was clear enough to call no goal.
If it’s that close then that’s not really the spirit of offsides and should be allowed.
