For the Wings to pull miracles back to back nights and get stiffed is crazy
First game of the season counts as much as the last. That's why you want to control your own destiny. They are a young squad and should have better days ahead.

Lots of teams have been eliminated. Not lots of teams pull their goalie in a tied game.
They needed a regulation win and they tried a hail Mary to get one.

Apparently, Torts pulled the goalie after the Red Wings made it to OT, so his senior moment screwed the Red Wings and Penguins.
And why does he give a flying F about either of those teams?

Yes, they needed a regulation win….until the second they got eliminated. Then, getting a regulation win didn’t matter. In effect, they threw the Hail Mary after the game was over.

He shouldn’t care about those teams. He should care about his team. And once his team was eliminated, he should have coached his team to try to win the game.

Yes.

Him pulling the goalie was redundant because even if somehow they scored, they were eliminated due to Red Wings making it to OT.

Their postseason depended on Pittsburgh, Detroit, and Wasington getting 0 points.
Right, so I don't get all the fuss. He had a goal and he went for it. Unfortunately for him, he was already a dead man walking. Detroit and Pitt fans shouldn't blame him.

So his season was over, no?
Of course it was. Just like another dozen team’s seasons were over for days/weeks. You still have to play the games. And you should play them to win.

Even, and maybe even especially, if your season is “over”.

Unless you are the Pens. They have special tanking dispensation from the league. Which BTW, we are only a few short seasons away from…

"if sidney crosby drags this team to the playoffs it will be the triumph of the ages"

or maybe they just would have sucked ever so slightly less than every other dog shit ass metro team.

Not sure if it was mentioned earlier in this thread, but homer jagweed Jack Edwards retires from calling Bruins games because of an obvious decline in his speech this year.

Was a fan of Edwards when he was at ESPN, but his Bruins tenure was an embarrassment. With that said, I wish him well in retirement & hope he can recover from whatever has been slowing his speech.

Well it was a dumbass move on his part for not knowing. Giving away a win for no reason whatsoever, other than his complete incompetence to understand the situation at hand.

This will make headlines tomorrow.
Just like when he put jokinen in the shootout to have us miss the playoffs... Wasn't that torts?
