a NYer in England
We had 2 home games in NJ this past week. We broke the pitiful islanders again and they're done. Again. Then we went into our rightful NJ home rink and hurt the devils physically, mentally, on the score sheet and in the standings: bastian crying on the ice, hughes crying on the bench, devils fans just crying everywhere. Rempe stands proudly as a free man, exonerated for his "crime" of hitting too hard.

And now the flyers. I used to hate them but they've sucked for so long and been babyshitsoft for so long that they're reduced to irrelevant, boring and mostly harmless. Tortorella has changed them up enough (before he burns all his bridges again) that it's probably time to spend effort smashing these flyer f***ers. I'd love to see a mean game - the Rangers have the horses for that course and I want to see Torts lose his shit.

It's been a good week for hockey, let's finish it off strong.

I would not want to play the Wings in the playoffs. I feel they can be a team that can upset a bunch of teams.

4-0 DeBrincat. He is so nasty.

I'll take the Wings as a PO match over a lot of other teams. But for now I just want them to roll on to keep the brutal pressure on the little devils, the old islanders and the even older penguins. Feels good man.

Wings scare me. I think they can be a Cinderella story this playoffs along with the Flyers too. 2 teams no one expects to make it might make it this playoffs. Good for the NHL to have different teams make it.

Wings would be such an easy out and a dream matchup for the Rangers.

Them getting in would really just signal the futility of the teams that don't. The WC team I'd want to part of is Tampa.

Tampa are so mid , zero reason to fear them.

I mean, they lost to TORONTO in the playodfs ffs .

They're washed, finished, barely a playoff team.

Teams i'd want to avoid: Bruins, Hurricanes, Devils if they make it.

Detroit and Tampa are teams i'd prefer to play.

Even Florida I think we match up with okay.

It all depends on what TB does at the deadline with their LTIR money

Detroit is as mid as it gets.

Tampa at least has experience, some really high end talent and some guys who can bang. They're one of those teams I'd like to avoid because even if you get by them, they're going to soften you up for your next opponent. The oodles of cap space and a core that is a now core tells me that they'll end up doing some pretty big shit soon.

OTOH Bruins don't really worry me that much. The template on how to beat the Devils has been written. Carolina is a tough out for anyone so I'd agree there.

I'd like to avoid Toronto, Carolina and Florida. At least if you play Florida you're going to get them later (perhaps Toronto too, but they may slide into a WC spot.)
