Islanders had a 2 on 0 but the pass missed by a mile. I'm always perplexed how professional hockey players can't make a pass with no pressure.

Canucks looking uncharacteristically bad in the 1st. And by “uncharacteristically‘ I mean by this season standards thus far.

On the other hand they look EXACTLY like last season’s Canucks.

JT Miller, he is one player they should have kept during that Rangers rebuild.

Bo Horvat scores in Vancouver

Islanders lead 3-1

Miller just killed Kuzmenko with a slapper omg, not good. Straight to the face

edit: looks like the shoulder pads took some force. Might be throat shot.

Boy, PhilzFacts, Islanders Takes, Isles Den, Rob Taub, all of em, couldn't have been any more off than they have been so far in assessing the two NY teams. If you go to those Twitters and look at Summer comments and comments from camp, you can frame some of them. They are that good. $18M in cap hit tied up into Martin, Clutterbuck, Pageau, Lee, and Engvall. Only fanbase in hockey that believes Pierre Engvall is a top-6 hockey player. Delusional. Lamoriello may have cost them, badly, for years to come.

Excited for tonight’s latest edition of #SharksWatch

That two game win streak spooked me a bit. Luckily they are 0-3 since then have been out scores 14-4 in that span.

It took all of 1 season for Barzal to go from massively overrated to universally hated by the NYI fanbase.

Was there optimism around that team?

A lot of what I read was pretty on the ball leading into the year. Old, stale, not enough done by the dinosaur to try to improve the roster, etc.

Lets be real, this team had no business making the playoffs last year. It took an epic bit of failure from Pittsburgh to make that happen.

By the time it's all said and done they may end up being last in the division or at best, 2nd from the bottom. Philly is better than they are (they actually aren't that bad.)

Yea, if you go to any of their Twitter accounts on the phone and tweet search "Rangers", you'll see some insanity.

The Islanders look like the late 2000s Rangers with Hank. Aging overpaid vets, young players with limited upside and a world class goalie. Their best case is sneaking into the 8th seed and losing in the 1st round. I've been telling my islanders buddies this for a year and they are only now just catching on. Purgatory aint fun.
