I remember just a couple of days ago that these playoffs were going just about as well as any of us could have hoped for. Stars losing. Edmonton losing. Boston looking vulnerable.

And here we are.
 
There was something off about that whole draft. How those two could go before Stützle is baffling.

... Obviously because he's European, even more so German. Any tape available showed that Stützle was a superior offensive talent (puck control and playmaking) vs. Byfield and Laf.

There are pathetic nominal factors that go into drafting, when they shouldn't.

I'll take any 17y old playing DEL against men, over a kid from the Q (which is by far the weakest CHL league) for example.
