So is this version of Paul Maurice better than the version in December where 100 percent of the people on here were calling him the worst coach in hockey? Or is just guys like Tkachuk and Bennett led by example and made the rest of the team believers?!

We need tough talent. Even Barkov has picked up his game. This is also why I think Kakko and Laffy will be fine... they can become that.

ROR looked really old and slow. Maybe it's time to not reach for guys in their mid 30's anymore?

Florida has been great 5v5. Their special teams and goaltending have been bad. If our special teams and goaltending was at their level this regular season, Gallant would have been fired in year 1... he wouldn't heve even finished the first season.. fired by the ASB

Those two guys are so f***ing overrated. They are the definition of regular season players. Matthews might be the biggest p***y to ever lace up skates in the NHL.

Pretty rush players do not succeed in the playoffs... the caveat is McDavid but even he's slowed somewhat and he's in a different tier altogether.
Hughes has struggled until today. You need simple, tough skill. You still need to be able to move the puck and not look like beer leaguers.
Matthews and Marner suffer from the same thing Rangers stars suffer from. Everything has to be pretty. It doesn't work as well as it does in the regular season.

Rentals are largely a waste of time, you are basically praying for good puck luck from a player for a 25 game stretch.

I don't mind giving up a 4th rounder for a guy like Vatrano or a Motte but yeah if you need to pay a first plus for a guy in his 30's with tons of wear? pass.
