That's a penalty that's NEVER called anymore. I wonder if there's a way to look it up & find out when it was last issued. I bet it's been over 5 years since an NHL referee enforced that rule. They've had plenty of opportunities, night in & night out but they simply refuse.

Its only a penalty if there was a fight which there wasn't, it was just Domi smoking Dumba.

No fighting majors were handed out thus no 3rd man in.

Just one game and without Bergeron but I was not impressed by the Bruins. If you asked me what team set the NHL record in points and I didn't know I'd think it was the Oilers.

Oilers look like a different team from last year, Ryan and Macleod a year better, Ekholm a great addition, Skinner is better than he gets credit for and Draisaitl is healthy.

If the Rangers don't win I hope it's the Oilers. I've been rooting against Canadian teams winning since the 04 final but I'm not that petty anymore.

That's a fair explanation if you're splitting hairs, but this incident wasn't remotely called correctly. Domi only getting 2 mins for unloading with 3-4 bare knuckle punches is ludicrous. I know they gave him the extra 10, but he deserved 5 for fighting plus the misconduct for jumping a player on his way to the box who wasn't ready to defend himself.

Regardless, my point about the 3rd man being ignored wasn't really about this incident. It's simply never enforced in this version of the NHL.

There’s a gray area with that, on the Boyle/Carkner situation Carkner was given 5 for fighting but Boyle wasn’t because he was jumped so your guess is as good as mine if the refs want to call something like that.
