Boston set a record for most points, were the hands down cup favorite, finished 43 points ahead of Florida, had a 3-1 lead in the series, were leading 3-2 in this game and allowed tying goal with less than a minute to play and proceeded to lose in OT. Can you imagine the meltdown on this board if that happened to the Rangers?
Honestly man as a lifelong Rangers fan, the only way a team owned by Dolan can ever surprise me is by winning its league's championship.

I also wonder what this does to the mindset of teams still in it? To an extent you can imagine them playing pretty loose as "all roads lead through Boston" and as they were the unstoppable force, expectations could be kept pretty low.
Now, suddenly it really is anyone's Cup and the nerves and expectations might start kicking in

While not quite the discrepancy, if HFBoards were a thing in 1992, it would be just as bad.

And this is a team whose star forwards have already won a Stanley Cup.

Stop trying to derive human meaning from losing. It's all just numbers.

That winning goal is because of Marchand and Bertuzzi doing what they always do - running at the puck completely disregarding context.

That's that playoff grit.

3-2 with less than a minute to play and to lose it on OT?

I know one poster would unleash all his wrath and fury at Shesterkin.

Dallas IMHO is now the team to beat. They're going to get a hobbled Colorado with Georgiev in goal, or a scrappy Kraken.

They can out goalie the Oilers or outskill the Knights.
