Wait.. what? :)

  • Sergei Zubov
  • Born: July 22, 1970
  • Birthplace: Moscow, RUS
  • Shoots: Right
  • Draft: 1990 NYR, 5th rd, 1st pk (85th overall)
He had most of his NHL career in Dalas though! ;)

**** is GRIM in San Jose right now
They might be the first team to go on a losing streak instead of a winning streak after firing a coach lol

Yeah I feel bad for the Sharks - they still have a decent team and most had the Sharks in the playoffs prediction beginning of this season! :DD

I'd understand that if they weren't employing a guy who beat a fan with his own shoe.

Just another hypocritical organization.
Haha.
True. anyhow I’d say people aren’t necessarily softer these days. But they’re more sensitive to others. Which is good (when it doesn’t go too far, of course). But I think people often conflate sensitivity and softness.

That’s such bs, not what you said but about NBC wanting to keep a good image. NBC is a joke of a so called news organization. The same company that employed sexual predator Matt Lauer for years, they had Brian Williams lie and make up stories, and just demote him to their sister station that nobody watches, they covered up and buried Harvey Weinstein’s multiple allegations, but hey some former hockey player makes a tongue in cheek remark on a podcast and it’s “you’re suspended”.
True about NBC. But they still have to keep trying to get it right. They’re (technically) a mass media organization.
I mean, you’re right, though. NBC and the other networks are a joke. They should all probably get out of the “news business” altogether.

Somewhat of a difference between "equipment allergy" and "major surgery."
Exactly. Sad that Chicago has probably brought the skepticism upon themselves. But I think this case is way different from Hossa. That said, I wouldn’t sign that statement. Hossa could be having legit quality of life issues. I’m dubious but... who knows, really. Has there been any follow up on that story.

I like Roenick as a commentator but here's the problem with what he did. He's thrown out a line on the one hand and put a female co-worker in an awkward position on the other. It was a dumb and not respectful thing to do. If one is attracted to someone one should go about these things in private and gauge the other person's interest. This is even more important if your person of interest is someone you work with. Airing this kind of crap in public on Spittin Chiclets was just stupid and actually Bissonnette and Whitney should have realized that as well and tried to take it to another place. It's not very nice as far as Roenick's wife either. I don't know what the **** he was thinking but he brought this on himself.
I would say that if Roenick wanted to be “that guy” he could leave NBC and go somewhere that has differ
I mean people keep focusing on Roenick, but the real story is Kathryn Tappen. Through no fault nor action of her own, she now has to issue public statements about a coworker referring to having a sexual encounter with her. Can you imagine how awkward that is? Issuing a statement condemning the remarks of a guy you're still likely going to work with? And to even address the subject at all, in any kind of public way? That's so, so unfair to her.

She'll have to deal with idiots on Twitter, random hecklers on location, all referencing this nonsense. His reckless words have now caused her to have to deal with this bull**** for however long it is until people forget about it and stop being ****ty humans (which, in the age of the internet, is never). So **** JR, I feel absolutely zero sympathy for him, he brought it on himself, and the person that we really ought to be feeling bad for here is Tappen. And, JR's wife, I would presume, though she ostensibly willingly married the guy and probably knew what she was getting into.

I won't get into whether or not he should keep his job, but he should be reassigned to where he will not have to work or interact with her, because there's a damn good chance she will never again be comfortable around him (I have been the chief EEO investigator at two jobs and have dealt with so many harassment issues, I know the impact even minor things can have on the victims).
Yes. Were Roenick not a co-worker this is way different. In fact, I was thinking that if Roenick had some innate desire to be “cutting edge” or “hardcore” or whatever, it’s not like he couldn’t be that on-air personality. Just not with NBC - not their brand - and not involving co-workers - for obvious reasons. He could go independent or join Barstool or whatever and talk about anyone. He just can’t have it both ways.

Looks like Ovechkin only needs 13 more goals to jump from #12 to #8 on the all time goal scoring list. He'll be jumping Selanne, Lemieux, Yzerman and Messier. He should hit 700 and possibly pass Gartner for #7 all time before the end of the season.

Not to take anything away from Panarin who is an absolute wizard but John Calrlson has more assists right now and Anthony Duclair has the same amount of goals. Carlson has 12 more points than Ovechkin

Doug Wilson IMO is a terrible GM. His team has way too many older players---a number of whom are on long term contracts.....and in recent year's he's been trading away lots of draft picks. He's running his team into the ground.

Hayes wins it in ot for the Flyers. f*** the metro. Hayes on pace for 25 goals.

Not really a surprise that Hayes has gotten his game together and on pace for 25+ goals and almost 50 points. I'd go as far as saying that before the season started, I thought he'd have his first 60 point season.

His piss poor start likely has that projection of mine a bit tough to attain tho not impossible but he's in a great situation there in Philly and so him doing well shouldn't be a surprise to anyone of us.

I don't feel bad for SJ one bit. But I do look at Ottawa and Carolina and be like:

"There goes my rebuild ... watch it as it gooees ... "

Another textbook example of bad reffing in today’s NHL. How do you not call that? You’re right there.

I could be wrong but I don't see Hall stick out his leg at all. He is set for the hit and stops taking tries. Janmark makes a last second move to put himself in that vulnerable position. It's a horrible result, for sure, but what should Hall have done?
