Blues got this. I am so not interested in hearing Bruins fans whine about the Bozak-Acciari non call, would have been a weak penalty for the finals. Glad it wasn't called. Idiot should have gotten up instead of trying to pretend he was hurt, which he wasn't.

I'm pretty sure that in those closing minutes that a Boston player knocked the stick out of Binnington's hands, too.

That being said, **** Boston. That city has enjoyed its fair share of calls going their way over the years. Snow plow game, anyone?

I'm not worried who wins. I'm a Rangers fan. I think the NHL's officiating is a joke though. The play on Acciari besides being a trip is a dangerous play---when what you do makes a guy fall backwards on his head---it's bad. But Boston--it's won enough lately anyway. They're a little too cocky.

Bozak is in his lane, coming in hot. Acciari skates right into his lane and puts his back towards the oncoming players. Bozak attempts to stop. Bozak swats at the puck, hitting Acciari's stick, momentum of the play goes through Acciari, the guy who put himself in traffic. In real time this all happened within a matter of seconds.

Not a penalty.

It certainly was a penalty. He knocked the guys legs out and could have seriously hurt him. That is called 9 times out of 10 and the non call lead to a goal to add insult to injury. I hate Boston but it still should have been called. If that play happened against the Rangers and the other team scored this place would have had a meltdown of epic proportions.

Didn't something like that happen in a playoff game versus Pittsburgh?

Actually I'm surprised if Acciari isn't concussed. I turned the game off pretty much at that point. But IMO he needed to go into concussion protocol. It looked like a leg sweep to me and Acciari didn't just fall backwards but there was more momentum behind it because of the leg sweep. Seriously I think the NHL should look at a play like that as suspension worthy.

He did and he returned.

St. Louis has kind of been doing a Boston on Boston. Usually with the Bruins you can expect them to out physical you and they were never too fussy about hitting high and (some of them anyway) playing dirty. And then they always have guys that can really fight like Lucic, Thornton, Kevan Miller, McQuaid and Chara. Chara's really banged up--Miller's out injured and the rest are gone. But looking at guys like Sundqvist, Barbashev--they're big and they've been running people high not just in this series but throughout the playoffs. I don't think that's an accident--it's at least partially influenced by Berube who was tough as nails as a player.

I suspect Boston is going to look to get tougher again in the off season. That's what they like and really they've been losing the physical war here. I'm looking at St. Louis and wondering if this is the way they're going to play now--and probably it will.

It was a missed call. So?

Play on.

You play to the whistle.

Goes back to the EK hand-pass debate. You go until you're told to stop. You won't always get the bounce to go your way, but you also don't get caught with your pants down.

I don't care if it's an umpire, a ref, a coach in practice, or a trainer with a stopwatch, you push until you know 100 percent that you've been told to stop.

Boston made the transition from being super heavy to sacrificing some of the heavy for quickness once Julien got canned.

St Louis has been heavy for years though. Its just more apparent now because they've hung around long enough in the post season for it to be a difference.

Barbashev isn't really that big but again it comes down to mentality more so than sheer size. Both is preferable, which the Blues have in spades.

Anyone else watch the postgame on NHL Network last night? Rupp tore apart Cassidy and some of the players for whining and blaming the refs for losing the game while they continue to roll out and defend Marchand every night

Edit: took me a second to find, but here it is

Love Rupper. Telling it like it is. It was an awful missed call but it was also a f***ing Marchand special. The universe is slightly more in balance today.
