The trade went down on either Saturday or Sunday. Having watched Yandle for several years, I thought the Rangers would have had a better plan to shelter his minutes. Any pro scout would/should have known his offensive prowess was always mitigated by his propensity for turnovers.
And did they ever have a plan to shelter his minutes!

This time last year I had major concerns.

Nothing from the last 12 months has changed my mind.

If I had a nickel for every time someone said "Erik Karlsson underwent successful surgery."

I'd be a rich f***in' man.

FWIW I think the Hayes trade was absolutely a failure for Winnipeg.

They gave up a 1st in a good draft, and Lemieux for a guy who didn't play much in their only playoff series. I don't see how that can be looked at as a successful trade.

When they traded for Stastny, he got considerably more ice time than Hayes did, and was a regular contributor.

WPG decided that it was worth losing assets to acquire a player to only play 12 mins a game in the playoffs. They cut a 3rd of his ATOI and expected the same production. Thats a failure to me.

To be clear. I don't think it was a failure because Winnipeg lost in the first round. I think it was a failure because of their usage of Hayes Vs what they gave up for him.

The first round exit just magnifies the poor management
This is a totally reasonable opinion. I do think that Maurice is a pretty poor coach though. I wouldn't necessarily put the blame there on Hayes.

What if Winnipeg acquired McDavid for the rights to Pokey Reddick but Lost in the first round. Still a bad trade?
What a stupid analogy. Has nothing to do with deadline deals and a team that went to the conference finals last year and was trying to get over the hump. Wake up.

Which is why I didn't expect much...we already had The Boil (Dan Boyle) doing that in abundance.

Deadass had a dream and just woke up because of it that I was scrolling on twitter that Lundqvist waived his ntc accepting a trade to Philly. Shit was like broad as day lmao, woke up like “ahh just a dream”

There were initial reports that Girardi was going the other way. The reactions around here to those reports and the subsequent correct reports were pure comedy.

How many times have you ever heard that so and so underwent unsuccessful surgery today for a ________ injury.

The San Jose Sharks reported earlier today that Erik Karlsson's groin surgery ran into some complications, and required some improvisation, but was otherwise a success.

It is expected that Erika will be cleared to resume training in 6-8 weeks.

The Sens should tender a lowball offer with low term effectively telling him to go **** himself.

Too bad he didn't accept their offer last year.

If your the Sens, it's really not a bad outcome considering the shit show it became.

If they can get EK back, possibly on slightly better terms than they thought, and they still have the assets they acquired for him? I think the Sens walk away content in that scenario.
