A .50 PPG career player is getting 6 million a year? Fun times.

To be entirely fair, very similar to Hayes, he never got big ice time prior to this season. He was always in the 15 min range and this year bumped up to 18 mins. However he scores 5v5 at a much lower rate than Hayes, unlike Hayes he has got a lot of PP time in his career with very very poor results, is not a regular penalty killer (he's like their last guy out on the PK), and has far worse on ice impacts.

All I know is all the other pending UFAs agents just got excited. lol.

Is it weird to anyone that he didn't join the Stars organization? Doesn't he live in Dallas?

he used to work for the stars but left when he moved his family to arizona...

Modano Moves, No Longer Alt. Governor For Stars

modano and his wife (joe micheletti's daughter) are both for MN so I'm guessing they already live there or wanted to move back, I don't think he took a job with the wild at random

Ridiculous. He has been out of the league for years already.

But I can't wait to see Bobby Hull on the ice for a ceremonial puck drop this upcoming season to "promote the NHL"

I'd prefer to never see Bobby Hull again.

There was a 3 page thread when a poster had breakfast with Mike Hartman, I think we'll be ok with thousands of other alumni who didn't beat their wives.

The Bobby Orr aerial celebration motif is a given.
Who in their right state of mind would not expect it to be shown?
If you don't like seeing a great slice of NHL and hockey history, too bad for you.

I think people are dreading the sheer number of times that clip will be shown.

Pittsburgh is talking about trading Phil Kessel and Jack Johnson to Minnesota for Jason Zucker and Victor Rask. Interesting stuff.
why would the Wild want Johnson? he still has 4 years on that contract. I thought Minn wanted to get younger. Honestly they aren't going anywhere by getting guys in their 30's like Kessel and Johnson.
I am in the minority that actually liked the trades for Fiala and Donato (getting two young guys that can play)

Definitely interesting. Rutherford needs to fix that Pittsburgh D but at least trading Johnson is addition by subtraction. Kessel hasn't been as good in the playoffs these past two years as he was when Pittsburgh won those two Cups.

Just read that Bob McKenzie said Kessel said no to the trade (for the moment).

Possible that the trade was leaked to set the market and get more teams involved with offers.

I have no earthly idea. Johnson is perennially overrated and his contract is an albatross. On the other hand, Rask’s contract looks pretty bad too although he is younger and still has time to turn things around.

This looks like one of those trades that won’t help either team.

Do you really think it’ll shake out to anything more than a lateral move? Can the Blues just sweep these dirty New Englanders already so we can get to the real off-season?!
