But you aren't allowed to just skate up to someone and punch them in the head while they're down.
True and that’s why a 2 min penalty would’ve been ok. But 1 game suspension, no. Thornton got 1 game for his hit which was faaaar worse than this soft punch.

I think most people would guess the other 3...but it would take awhile before I guessed couture as #2

RE: Marchand - If I'm the BJs just start running Bergeron and Pasternak with cheap shots. Ignore Marchand but start going up high on those guys and give him a look every time to let him know he's the reason those are happening.
They’re already giving Pasta a total beating.

Columbus is winning the Cup.

I’m starting to feel that way. Then I’m going to laugh at everyone who wondered why they traded for Duchene at the deadline.

Man does Duchene look good on that team, in the PO’s in general.

Contract year or “I’m finally happy playing hockey now.”

?

Gotta give them credit for going for it, and being successful so far, knowing they're probably going to lose three big UFA's. Half of the Rangers boards would've lost their shit if Gorton went all in with pending UFA's and squeeking into the playoffs as an 8th. Let's see how far the gamble takes them.

This is also my hope for CBJ.

The league needs a fire lit. It's too conservative. Too many teams just sit around halfway between competing and rebuilding.

(Disclaimer: The Rangers should not do this yet*)

Torts is a great coach. I missed him while we were stuck with that buffoon who followed him.

Thank God for Quinn.

The Quinn hiring was timed perfectly with the rebuild beginning and the influx of young talent that needed consistent development. I can’t imagine the extra damage AV would have done to the young core that’s in place.

This series is really all that stands in their way.

The road that would remain would be much easier than the ones they've already traveled.
Absolutely, but it’s not even that, they just have that luster of planets aligning at the right time. Reminds me of the ‘06 Hurricanes. The ‘12 Kings were really obvious but they were just steamrolling teams.

Logan is a true big game big time performer. The guy is money.

Rick Nash >>>Glen Anderson > Logan Couture

But what about "dem small sample sizes"?

Maybe Logan is the worst playoff performer of all time, but the small sample size skews his stats to make him look great?

Ever think of that HF?

Given some reactions to trading a couple 2nds for a highly-regarded prospect, “lost their shit” feels like a seismic understatement.

That PP yesterday, holy ****, that was incredible.

These are probably the 2 best teams still in it.

and hence the problem with this playoff format...

The best teams in each conference end up facing *each other* in *ROUND f***ING 2* every year. It's been that way since they changed the alignment.

They need to bring back 1-8 2-7 seeding, or at the very least, start with divisional brackets and then re-seed teams based on regular season points.

LFG. This is what I want to see

And you know nobody is going to get a major called for a standard high cross check after the Vegas game. May as well run wild especially if it takes out one of their best players for a game...

Holy f***... Imagine if we had kept his Charmin-soft ass in here? DeAngelo would never play, Andersson would be thrown in way over his head, Hank would be giving up even more goals per game, Pionk on the 1st pair every f***ing night no exceptions.
