So the Flyers have been really impressing me with their ties lately. I'm impressed by the fact that Rangers beat them. Hell they almost got a point from LA.

You know who scored for Tampa tonight?

What does Callahan's level of play have anything to do with how poorly his 45 games were here.

As if he would have miraculously gotten better if we kept him. His play here was not indicative of it. It is a hot streak for him. Nothing more.

And for St. Louis, its nothing more than a colossal slump.

This is the best thing I've ever seen.

I posted this on the main board. The NHL Network with a hilariously bad mistake. They showed what the Devils' record would be if they got all of the points and half of the points in the shootout. Only problem is a) you can't get half the shootout wins when it's an odd number b) they double counted, and all points would apparently get them 22 extra points.

Ovechkin with zero even strength points and a minus-17 in the month of March. Ouch

This guy has had one of the weirdest careers I can remember. From dominant force to a good but not great player that will score 30 to the best PP specialist in the league who isn't good at much else, all before he's 30.

That's pretty bad.

The one thing I seriously don't get about the Devils is, how they're still somewhat in playoff contention (in the sense that they could make it mathematically). Good job by DeBoer.

I've never liked him from the numerous times I'd seen him leave his feet on a dirty hit. Enjoying the fact that the divisions changed and his team no longer has an easy free pass to the playoffs.

Callahan is handling the puck more on the PP in TB. He has more time behind the net to make a play. Callahan lines up in front of the net. He drops back behind the net to receive a pass from Filppula who is at the right wing circle. Stamkos at the left wing ready for a one timer. Teams have to respect Stamkos which opens up space.

I have to say some of the stuff Devils fans say about him is egregious, but on the other hand I think DeBoer somehow found a way to mask one of the weakest rosters in the NHL. Though, I'm starting to think it's not as bad as I previously thought. Jagr at 152 would lead our team in points and Henrique is having a good season. The fact that DeBoer unapologetically said he doesn't practice the shootout despite it being the worst in history and said "do the Pens practice the shootout? Yes? Well we would do if we had Crosby", is ridiculous.

We're really noticing more these days that a players peak years are in their early to mid 20's. It's quite rare to see guys in their late 20's and especially 30's putting up career numbers.

So, it's not terribly surprising Ovechkin's "best years" are behind him, and it can be considered somewhat impressive that he's still one of the best goal scorers in the NHL.

At any rate I'm filled with a huge amount of glee watching the Caps slip out of the playoffs. All those damn years of playoff matchups...

DeBoer has a good overall strategy with his team I think, but the team just doesn't have the players to consistently score goals. But he really screwed up in starting Brodeur so much this year and some of his decisions with the lineup are very questionable as well. There are good and bad with him IMO.
