Just recorded a 1-min loop of Yandle talking in case I have trouble sleeping. Do they screen test these guys to be sure they don’t cause mass narcolepsy while speaking???
These guys trade in work ethic for any kind of personality.

Stop with the conditional crap plz
I'd definitely like to see some draft/NHL changes.
"Lottery" - can be won once, 1-3OA, per 5 years. Winners that have previously won can only pick 4th or later.
Team that picks 1st overall, next pick should be 62, 2nd and 61, etc...
I haven't figured out a solution, but something should also be done when teams are holding players out of the lineup because the deadline is approaching.
The college free agent thing should be dealt with, too. Teams that lose picks because of time should be compensated with something. I don't know what. A 6-7th? Something.
Salary scale that compensates for at least local/state taxes and possibly COLA.
Toronto (instant) review of all headshots/match penalty calls.
Keep the same referee crew for every game in a playoff series so players know what to expect/consistency.
Teams who lost a 1st rounder to free agency already get a 2nd round pick in compensation.
My idea for the lottery would be to limit the number of times you can move from outside the top-3 into the top-3 to twice in 5 years. A legitimate finish in the bottom-3 doesn't count towards that limit. So, for example, if the Rangers finish 5th next season and won a top-3 spot, they wouldn't be eligible for another one for 3 years unless they finished in the bottom-3 during that time.
What if the player isn't worth a 6th or 7th? He just sits in free agency because no team will want to pay the compensation? You see that being agreed to?Yeah, I'm talking a guy like Fox that was drafted 66th and Carolina gets zilch because the guy didn't want to play for them. The team that signs him should have to hand over a 6th or 7th or whatever. They lose simply because of time.

All college free agents sign two-way deals. If any first round pick doesn't sign, the team gets a 2nd in compensation. Then why is the team signing him to an NHL contract? Maybe if it’s a two way contract there’s no compensation? The idea is to prevent hobey baker candidates from being picked up for nothing not preventing fringe AHL players from signing deals. I’m sure something could be worked out. Maybe only applicable to 1st and 2nd round picks? IDK.
I find it hard to believe that adding this conditions especially like in the Zucc deal was an easy ask...the alternative is to just take the lesser pick with no potential of a better pick. its not like teams offered us a first and we said no lets put a condition on it. other than the stress of hoping for them, there is literally ZERO down side to us. either we get a better pick or get the same pick.
All the contracts those college FA’s are standard ELCs. The NHLPA wouldn’t let the NHL change it either I’d imagine, kids from the CHL can do it too, but they’d need to play their overage season in the CHL and then go play in Europe for a season to become free agents, but they’re allowed to reenter the draft after 2 years if they don’t want to sign to the team that drafted them. Then why is the team signing him to an NHL contract? Top 3 are usually franchise players - teams like the Rangers who are competitive every year or don't do a swan dive (like the 'Wings kept playing hard down the stretch) deserve a chance at these types of players. NJ picking 1st OA twice in three years shouldn't happen. They should go to 4th and give another non-playoff team a run at it who hasn't picked there recently. Discourages trying to be bad for the sake of better chances @ 1-3 for teams that already have picked there.
Carolina traded for Fox knowing this was a possibility.
I cant make sense of thisChanges I’d like to see was how this started I know what Carolina knew.

Yup...the NHL is really two different seasons . You really just have to get in them. Finishing first means diddly squat . You have to have a team that can step up the intensity in the playoffs...you need the Hornqvist type but younger . Lemieux hopefully can do that for us . You cannot have all pretty boys . Barry Trotz has it figured out .You make the trades that look tough on paper - you sacrifice offense for a more balanced roster.
That might mean trading a guy with impressive numbers for two guys who combined might put up fewer point.
You seek an element of power to go with finesse, and find guys who can help shut down opposing players — not just outscore them.
I never really saw that much in him when he was here for that matter....he was overrated for sure and not a guy that was taking us to the promised land any time soon . His offense was just fair....and he never scared any forwards in front of Hank because they all knew he would never fight anybody ....OK in regular season....not worth a hoot in the playoffs .I just don't see any fire in McDonagh.

Only when the player is 25 or older. That's likely at least two years after college unless the player in question is more than a bit dumb.I know most ELC's are two way contracts but, from what I gather, they don't HAVE to be.

Didn't realize that Gilroy was 21 when he started college. So yeah, he was outside the entry-level system when he became a free agent. Pretty rare, I think.Like Matt Gilroy? :O
He was 24, turning 25, but close.![]()
I know what Carolina knew. This started with the changes I’d like to see.
I think that’s what it’s getting at
