This Penguins sweep reminds me so much of Chicago getting swept by Nashville 2 years ago. It was the first real sign that age was catching up to them.

Meh. We thought this not too long ago and they ended up winning back to back.

The pens were just outclassed the whole series. So called star studded team disappeared. Tampa too. I guess individual efforts don’t win in the playoffs.

There really isn’t one trade of ranger veterans for young guys that has worked out exceptionally well for the other team in the last 3 years.

Stepan. Brassard. Nash. Hayes. Any of the Tampa guys. We’ve maximized that talent to restock.

Our overpaying at the deadline AND winning the recent deadlines literally changed the value equation this past deadline.

Penguins do need to shed a few contracts. Kessel is one that comes to mind. He looks middle-aged out there on the ice. I like the guy but time flies.

Meh. We thought this not too long ago and they ended up winning back to back.

We did? I certainly didn’t.

They lost in the first round to us that year in 5, but those rosters had some big issues and it was obvious at the time. That was a plodding group. This feels totally different.
