I don’t know what’s wrong with hedman but he better come back and have the game of his life in game 4 after talking that shit at the end of game 2

Talent wins in the regular season. Heavy and luck helps in the post season.

That definitely seems to be the case, at least in what I remember, of recent years. I wonder why that's the case though. Do teams have so much more time, tactically, to prepare that that kind of heavy game starts to edge out? It's interesting, I'll never forget those Kings teams in the playoffs. They were so heavy, even WPG doesn't match them

62 regular season wins and a first round sweep.

Their pain will be exquisite to witness and exclusively theirs, representing a very special kind of hell.
Agreed. If they get swept after that kind of season, wow. As a fan, that’s probably the shittiest feeling ever.

Not that I'm looking forward to picking 58 instead of 31 but this has the makings of one of the most humiliating playoff exits ever. Tampa fans can expect a bit of heat if their team gets bounced out of the playoffs in the first round without even winning a game.

Even though I’m fine with them losing, it’s really not all that hard to imagine the Lightning winning 4 in a row.

And yes, I’ve watched the series.

Sergei Bobrovsky has flipped the switch Marty Turco found when he finally started playing well in the playoffs in 2007. If he continues playing like this he'll remove the one blemish on his resume.
Nah. He will implode at some point. Just hope it happens after the first round.

Teams really, really tighten up in the playoffs. Big teams can force things more so than smaller squads.

But the reality is, the best teams are normally a nice blend of heavy and skilled. You can't really win if you veer too much in one direction or the other unless you get really lucky or you have Crosby and Malkin (and even on those teams, Bonino and Hornqvist played pretty major roles.)

Just under 94 Sharks v Redwings.

By the way, thank you Arthus Irbe for the cup.

Yea, I get the feeling that one-sided skill can net you a lot of wins during the regular season when teams can't strategize/prepare as well for it. But during the playoffs, you need more balance.

If Tampa gets bounced, can we factor that is into the conversations about Stevie Y?

Not saying he hasn’t done some good things, but that whole genius label might be just a wee bit overstated.

You've gotta factor it in, I can't see how you don't. You've managed to build a 1-dimensional regular season dominating team. But this isn't the damn English Premier League, you have to build to be successful in the playoffs.

It definitely factors in and no doubt will turn a lot of people off to the idea

I still think he's a great evaluator of talent who can add a lot to a team. He can't coach and captain them.

Cooper has never won anything and Stamkos is a cottonball.
