Buffalo, we can forget about this whole last month, just beat Ottawa tomorrow, and have the game vs the Wings be a guarantee that at least one can pass us if we lose both in regulation.

At this point we need Detroit to beat Pittsburgh again. That is the most important game. We need Buffalo to beat Ottawa. Unlikely they will overtake us but still mathematically possible. The thing is if we lose two, then it opens up the scenario where Detroit can lose to Buffalo and both teams will have overtaken us then but if we win even one game, we'll want to swing all the dice towards Detroit to insure they are ahead of us. Another scenario if and only if we lose both of our games allows Detroit to get an OTL while Buffalo would need 1 win + 1 OTL. Actually scratch that. Is the first tie breaker wins or regulation wins?

First tie breaker should be ROW. Not looking at the standings but I think they would have more ROW's than us???

Just looked it up. Detroit has 29, Buffalo one more than us they have 26. we have 25.

I just realized that the Devils' stupid trade with Chiarelli was Taylor Hall, the Islanders' stupid trade with Chiarelli was Mat Barzal, and our stupid trade with Chiarelli was Ryan Strome.

Nothing against Ryan Strome but **** this team's luck.
Yeah I think the bone had been picked clean for the most part. Edmonton really had nothing left to give up of value. Plus we gave up Ryan Spooner who has become a forgotten man in the NHL. Was in the AHL for a while now I see amazingly enough he's back up with Vancouver. In the end Taylor Hall may not be in jersey for the long haul. He's a UFA after next year.

I am glad they tossed us one, even it it was leftovers.

They had to finish the tri-state area.

Considering what we've done with Spooner Pool Party would have been a worthwhile project but not sure about the injury! Undergoing surgery on both hips!

I know who the Oilers would want tho. They would have to part which may be around the 7th overall pick this year and I know contrary to what most Ranger fans on here feel I'm not sure I would do it.

Anaheim has looked good in this final stretch of the season. To think if they fired Carlyle sooner, they may very well have made the playoffs.
for sure. There was a stretch this season they went 5-25. Just imagine if they would have just went around 10-20 in that stretch they would have made the playoffs this year.
I like some of their prospects. They definitely won't be a buffalo or edmonton. They draft and develop pretty well

The Rangers can't finished worse than 6th if they don't gain 3 points in the next 2 games. The Rangers have 75 points and 25 ROW's. Edmonton has 77 points and 31 ROW's. Both teams have two games remaining.

Depending on the results on tonight's games, the Rangers last 2 games will have tremendous implications for their opponents.

If Detriot beats the Pens tonight, Carolina beats the Devils and Montreal beats the Caps, Carolina would have the same amount of points as the Pens (but more ROW) which would give the Canes that 3rd seed in the Metropolitan. The Habs would jump the Blue Jackets for the last wild card spot (with 1 extra game played).

Blue Jackets would be playing for their playoff lives on Friday vs the Rangers. A win against the Rangers puts they 1 point behind the Pens.

The Pens would then be playing for their playoff lives because if they dont get 2 points and the Jackets/Habs/Canes get at least 1 point in their last games, the Pens would be out due to least amount of ROW.

Canes play Philly, Habs play the Leafs and Jackets play Ottawa in their final games.

Crazy.

It’s simple - the Rangers need to lose in regulation in both of their last two games. Detroit then needs to add 1 point in their last two games. Buffalo needs to get 3 points in their last two games, which are against Ottawa and Detroit. If all that happens, the Rangers move up to 4OA.

Oh damn, this could be interesting

Watch them all lose out, except the Blue Jackets get an OT pt against the Rangers, and that’s it.

Pittsburgh doesn’t budge, and Carolina plops out of their playoff spot.

I hate Montreal especially ever since 2014 but if they somehow made it (even if they just miss out) you would have to give them a shit load of credit! I don't care what anyone says no one had them pegged at 94-100 points ...not even close. I kinda wanna see them make it because its so much fun to listen to the Tony Marinaro's of the world with their passion for hockey but at same time those fans can be hard to digest lol

<---- Had them as a bubble team, which is exactly what they are. Things kind of got f***ed up for them last year, but Julien is a very good coach.

They're in a weird spot though. This is a team that was really bad in 2012, made a high pick, found another gear for a few seasons, fell off, made another high pick.

Kotkaniemi is a stud, but their farm still blows. They remind me a bunch of the Leafs before they decided to suck for real.

It's the exact position I do not want this team to find themselves in.

Really hope Zucc tears it up for Dallas. Both so that they get to the WCF, and so they re-sign him.

Would be funny if Zucc brought a MSL return after all.

Radulov is on fire if he and Zucc are hitting it off and Seguin and Benn get back to form — they have an offensive 1-2 punch that basically is unmatched in the entire league, cepf maybe by Pittsburgh. Carl Klingberg has really turned into a complete defender the last years. He had big — and I mean big — defensive issues early in his career. He has cleaned a lot of that up. He is also in insane shape, there aren’t many guys in the league that tops him there. The guy looks border line sick bare skinned.
