Was he a target of Gortons also? I know he was involved kind of as a linchpin. He wanted to trade with Dallas but they wouldn’t. If they had took Petterson I believe Gorton had a deal in place to go up and grab Heiskenan.

Can anyone confirm that?

Pretty sure we were hot for EP.

Picking between him and Miro is pretty tough. I can only imagine how good EP will be if the Canucks ever make it to the postseason.

Yes but what I’m saying is I believe Heiskenan was his second. Dallas wasn’t forthcoming who they wanted. Gorton had a deal in place with Vancouver (if I’m remembering this correctly) but Vancouver was contingent on it only being available of Petterson was gone as they had him rated high too.

So the only deal that could have came to fruition would have been if Dallas took Petterson then Vancouver would have been amenable to a trade in which I believe Gortons immediate pick was Heiskenan.
