And thanks the hockey gods that the Flames took a day off last morning and Oilers with a 3-1 fantastic win! 1st & 6th overall could be a very good player in 2019 draft - I`m excited and we seldom draft this low!! ;)

I waited on that news and they had to do something with so much talent now, and starting fresh with a new system and coach in Buffalo is good for their Franchise in my view. Hopefully their new coach are good with developing young talented prospects.

True. I meant shame, we won't be able to watch Buffalo burn next year as well.

No doubt Georgiev was our best goalie in the second half. Looking forward to next season the Rangers should be an even more competitive team. If Georgiev continues to play well and Henrik has problems I don't think Quinn will hesitate at all to play Georgiev and that's not even factoring for whatever Shestyorkin does. So the goalie position should be fine. I also think Lindgren and Hajek will really compete for jobs next year. Both looked really good to me. They can play at an NHL pace and neither looked out of place. They were both solid. So I wouldn't be surprised if Claesson is not brought back or if one of our veteran D gets moved along. Have to find a taker though because all of Smith, Staal and Shattenkirk are overpriced.

At forward Buchnevich finished really strong. He looks like he finally gets it. Vesey and Names are decent 3rd liners. Strome overall was very good. Howden finished strong and should be better. Chytil and Andersson should make positive steps too. If one or two of them can become a 40 point player that will be a big help too. Also Lemieux I expect will be much better. The team made positive steps this year. They battle and stick up for each other. They're young and they should improve.

As far as the draft goes--hopefully we at least hold on to the 6th spot. If Winnipeg gets bounced early and Dallas can make it to the final four and Tampa win the Cup--we'll be sitting on three more 1st's. The way the Jets finished I think there is a pretty good chance of that. Dallas making it to the conference finals seems a reach but Tampa has got to be the odds on favorite of going all the way.

From your lips to gods ears. But I really don’t think Tampa wins it. I just think they peaked too early and mailed in in at the end. I think Dallas getting to the WCF is more likely. Hope I’m wrong on the first and right on the second.

Absolute best case scenario for us draft picks-wise:

Tampa vs. Carolina in the ECF
Dallas vs. Colorado or Vegas in the WCF

Tampa vs. Colorado or Vegas in the finals

Tampa wins the cup.

This would leave us with our own pick, Winnipeg's pick would be 19OA, Dallas' would be 28OA, and Tampa's would be 31OA.

Buffalo needed to dump Housley. There's no way you should continue with a coach after the team flatlined like that. When a coach has no answers--it was like us with AV last year except for the fact that some of our vets decided to lead the team when he would not so the team did show some life now and again. Not sure that Botterill shouldn't follow Housley out the door.

Tampa isn't very gritty. I worry about them in a series against Washington or Boston who have guys that will pound them constantly.
Agree, and maybe they should watch some old tapes about Islanders/Oilers finals. They NEED to want it THAT BADLY. If they don't they will lose, and have no one to blame but themselves. They will regret it someday. Hopefully not though.

I would love nothing more than a Dallas/TB finals. With Dallas 1st already in the bag, Tampa could get us another one, but if Dallas beats them.......I would be THRILLED for Zuccha. Can he lift the cup over his head?
