Detroit is thrilled to be back in the Eastern Conference--they have been pushing for to move for years. They were the only team in the western conference on Eastern time--every away game was in a different time zone.

Definitely makes sense for them then. I just really like the rivalry.

Columbus is 100% in the Eastern time zone. Pretty sure Nashville is too.

Remember when everyone bashed Kadri, taking Kreider over him, etc. He is already a PPG player.

I'm a big fan of Kadri (and JVR who's looking great), but I'm not sure that 21 games qualifies you to be called a PPG player. If that were the case we could say the Bickel was a PPG player as he had assists in his first 2 (or 3) games. Should probably wait until the end of the season

Stats mean whatever you want them to mean as long as they support your stance. :sarcasm:

22 games is nearly half the games this season.

This is true. Personally I wouldn't use a shortened season to gauge whether someone is a PPG player, but that argument aside, if he puts up 13 pts over those 26 games, he's then got 34 pts in 48, which isn't all that close to PPG

Exactly. When Tom Poti led the Rangers in blocked shots, do you think that was meaningful? No. Because we didn't want it to be.

Regression likely due to unsustainable on-ice shooting percentage, but it isn't as high as a guy like Frattin on the same team. If he continues to play with Kessel, he'll get the pts.

I think he will too. It comes down to semantics, but personally I won't label a player PPG based on a shortened season. As Trxjw says above, you can manipulate stats however you want, and for me you'd need to be up around that 0.95+ppg for 2 seasons before getting that label.

Either way, it's actually nice to see a TML team that is entertaining to watch play. It's been awhile

Sestito to Vancouver.

Kassian + Sestito? Vancouver must be sick of being considered soft. Still not over their SC Final meltdown.

Listening to TSN 990 in Montreal, they mentioned that Montreal and another team would have claimed Sestito had Vancouver not claimed him first. It could not have been the Rangers, since they passed on him. Interesting that Montreal, a smallish team would try to land a heavyweight, and the Rangers who got smaller since last year would pass on a guy like this.

Continues to play with Kessel? When did he start? It's been a month and a half. LOL. Give it a rest. Kadri hasn't proven anything yet,

Not that interesting. Rangers want guys who are 'tough' but can play hockey, hence why the shifted Rupp for Powe. Sestito doesn't fit into that category and would be a waste of a contract spot

Yup, that's why Mashinter was called up and all our other 4th liners play on average < 5 minutes a night! Trust me, the Rangers will get an enforcer soon enough, especially after the tough Habs slapped us around without any response...

I betcha they don't.

I'm not just dismissing it but no one here has worked on projects with other people at work and all missed something? It happens. Human Beings. Is it embarrassing? Of course. Not the end of the world\

That's a pretty big thing to miss. Honestly, it's completely unacceptable.

I like that Columbus might end up in our division. With all the former Rangers on that team, some semblance of a rivalry might develop.

If the Rangers make another Scott type trade this season, I will actually start buying into the the Sather/Torts are actually Pejorative Slured argument

I love watching the Leafs, even though they were bad the past few years, they were still fun to watch.
