Not ready to proclaim anyone a cup contender just yet.

Lest we forget that the Minnesota Wild started last year 20-7-2? They ended up 12th in the West.

I know, but the Wild were ridding the percentages number wise.

The Habs are as complete of a team you'll find.

Gionta-Plekanec-Ryder is a solid 2-way, point producing line you can find, Paccioretty-Desharnais-Gallagher has been really solid and the first two had shown chemistry in their AHL days together. Galchenyuk with two solid veterans in Prust and Eller is perfect for an up and coming player. Their 4th line is gritty as hell with Armstrong, White and Moen. Don't get me started on their defense, just all around solid with nice depth guys. Subban is on the cusp of becoming a superstar, Markov is a #1 guy when healthy, Diaz is Streit 2.0, Emelin and Gorges are two solid shutdown guys. Kaberle, Weber, Bouillon round out a nice 6-7 guy options vs. a certain opponent.

If they add in a guy like Iginla, which they certainly can with their elite prospect pool, they'll be my favorites this year. As much as I hate to say it.

What a deal by Bergevin, trading off a disgruntled Erik Cole for a point producing, 2-way Michael Ryder. Not sure what Nieuwendyk was thinking on that one.

Nice shot by Kane. Winnipeg needs to hand Jersey a defeat. I enjoy this downward trend.
