What? Chiller was quite a bit worse than Krug. It’s not even really a debate.

Jack Todd: Shea Weber doesn't deserve fans adding insult to injury
Shea Weber reminds me a great deal of my favourite player, back in the days when I was a fan of the Canadiens, not a newspaper columnist: No. 19, Larry Robinson. Weber is even taller than Big Bird, with the same strength, the same ability to start a rush or stop one going the other way, the same utterly professional approach to his job.
Weber is also like Robinson in that he is humble and soft-spoken and (at times) visibly uncomfortable under the klieg lights of Montreal, but he has never complained, never tried to pass the blame for a loss to someone else, never embarrassed the uniform. Among all the towering defencemen of this era, there is only one who looms larger than the 6-foot-4 Weber: Boston’s 6-foot-9 Zdeno Chara.
So how does Weber, this classy man mountain who has given so much to the game, become such a target for fan fury that he is attacked for the unforgivable crime of getting himself injured while playing hockey?
Seriously, people. What is wrong with you?
If only we had Khokolachev and Colin Miller in the lineup, we would have beat Tampa easy
You can't say that. If Clode had played him, we don't know where the cards would right now.
Why is it ok to have a 7 assist second pair defenseman but no room for a guy who can score 10 goals and 30 plus assists
Because one is 21 on an ELC and the other is 25 making almost $4M+ to be a third pairing specialist.
No doubt it was a huge drop off for Carlo point total wise.
Current thread status: absurd
If you want to laugh punch up the Colin Miller player discussion thread from '15. Board really liked him up until he wasn't a Bruin anymore.
Or the Looch trade thread. What a deal by Sweeney!
We have a 5plus million third pairing specialist already.
Unfortunately you have to pay better players more than worse players.
It's a fact that has long held back this franchise who tried going the other way for years.
I like Krug and Carlo a lot but you go like this.
Chara-McAvoy
Krug-Carlo
Xxx-Chiller
McQ/Killer

Loved the deal, hated exposing him. Oh well.
Give me that lineup with a low cost Left Handed KMiller/MCQ on the 3rd pair. CMiller takes most of McQ/Killers salary and whatevers left over throw at 3rd LD.
No matter what pairing you have out, you have an offensive puck mover out there that's a threat.
Using hindsight to its fullest, I think the best move after trading Lucic for that package, was to keep Jones and move Rask to one of the many teams who would have been interested. A team like Carolina probably would've paid the moon to solidify their goaltending. But again, can't fault Sweeney on that one. I do remember hearing rumblings that Rasks name was floated out there, but then they decided to move Jones instead.

We had that this year with McAvoy, Gryz and Krug
IMO, Grzelcyk is a great skater with the puck, but doesn't pass as well as Colin Miller does. Gryz may edge him out slightly in rushing the puck up ice, but Colin has him beat in both passing and shooting. And I'll take the 6'1 guy over the 5'9 guy every time if most things are almost equal.
I’m not so sure on the passing component, but Grzelcyk’s hockey IQ is far superior to Miller’s. I will take the smarter, smaller player over the bigger guy every time.
