As I said before So F’ing tired of hearing about Celebrini, Bedard, Michkov, and blah blah blah.

Our kids need to do something to turn heads this year. Expecting another bottom 10 finish but if one of our kids seriously breaks out…. Think Zegras in his rookie season…..actually no…bigger than that.

Crazy how he's still so good now, makes me sad that Getzlaf hit the wall relatively early.

Also a great example of a big centre that doesn't need to be ultra physical to still use his frame effectively. Someone we should be looking Carlsson to model himself after.

God damn that dead puck era hockey is just brutal to watch. It’s worrisome to me how much interference and holding they’re letting back in now just because scoring is up.

The back problems that Getzlaf had that made him retire, that for sure will happen to Lindstrom who already has a back condition in his draft year, it'll eventually catch up to him. I'm glad they passed on him.

Yeah, Kopitar is going to end up in the top 40 or so all time for games played. You don’t really have to do anything wrong to not play that long — it’s a total aberration to play 1300+ games. Lots of things have to go right.

Their recent moves have made no sense to me. They jettisoned Skinner, Mittelstadt, and Olofsson and all they got in return was Byram, even though LHD was already their strongest position. Then in the offseason they choose to focus on rebuilding their bottom 6 and not doing anything about their top 6 (unless you want to count Jason Zucker). And they still have quite a bit of cap space, so it’s not like they were handcuffed. It’s like they didn’t even want to improve the team in a meaningful way.

Previous 10 years they startes strong just to fall off short of the playoffs. Maybe they switch things around this time

If anything this makes me more hopeful for the Ducks because this seems like an ownership issue rather than (necessarily) a management issue. As an erstwhile Angels fan, I can attest that ownership issues don't go away. I think the Ducks ownership, while not perfect, is actually motivated to see the team succeed and will spend to do so.

I hadn’t realized just how uninteresting their forward group was until I went browsing today. Maybe they have really good forward prospects cooking somewhere but I mean, don’t they always? Who cares.

They do have some good forward prospects, but the issue I see is that they are all very similar type players: smallish, offensive-leaning wingers. Benson, Kulich, Ostlund, Helenius, and Rosen all fit that bill, and they already have Quinn and Peterka as regular NHL players anyway. The Matt Savoie for Ryan McLeod trade seemed to indicate that they see it's an issue, but the longer they sit on all those guys, the more value they are going to lose as trade chips.

The Matt Savoie for Ryan McLeod trade seemed to indicate that they see it's an issue, but the longer they sit on all those guys, the more value they are going to lose as trade chips.

They’re the ones who ought to make a play for Rantanen honestly.
