it's still a crap call. You are basically calling penalties for 'thought crimes'. Either they commit a penalty or they don't. The misconduct calls are just trash

Well, it's a necessary evil. misconducts to throw players out for the remainder of the period and send a message is by far the easier option than chancing an out of control scrum, injuries, suspensions, game misconducts, bench brawls etc.
I disagree that it's a necessary evil, but the NHL certainly isn't going to do away with it. My biggest issue is that it is called so randomly. For example, why was it called late in the 1st, yet not after that little scrum in front of Quick a minute a go?

I know we can't win them all, but this team needs to win a lot of games to make the playoffs now. Flyers, Devils, Jackets, and even Isles aren't ****ing around anymore. That and Carolina has won 5 of their last 7.
