Kevin Dineen and his crew have been fired...

The Florida Panthers have officially fired coach Kevin Dineen and assistants Gord Murphy and Craig Ramsay. Peter Horachek, who was coaching the franchise's #AHL club, has been named the club’s new interim head coach. In addition, the team announced that both Brian Skrudland and John Madden will join the Panthers staff as assistant coaches.

Interim. I never got the impression that LAvs would be unemployed for long, the question is could Florida convince him to come to that struggling franchise that can't fill an arena.

Anyone here think the Bolts are for real? I thought they'd cool down after the first 10 games but they're playing some pretty good hockey this year. Stamkos has really improved his two-way game and Bishop has been spectacular. Anyone think they make the playoffs? They have a chance with Ottawa sucking and the inevitable collapse of the Leafs.

I'd honestly like to wait until after their mid-November Western Road Trip. No idea where I would rank them, the games against CHI and STL were kinda impressive though.
Gut feeling right now is they could rank anywhere from 3 to 5 in the Atlantic, which I think could be enough for a Wild Card.

Bolts are more legit than a team like the Caps. Think they are a few pieces shy if being a true contender but I can see them doing damage in the playoffs.

Bryz to the oilers... I thought he didn't want to play in Canada? Ha

Too rich. If Bryzgalov to Edmonton is true, Oilers play at Philadelphia tomorrow afternoon.

LOL!

This Smid trade is wonderful in how backwards it sounds. A young team with bad defense trades a veteran D to a supposedly rebuilding team for prospects.

So the Oilers trade one of their best defensemen to...Calgary, and then sign Bryzgalov? MKUltra **** goin down in Edmonton. At least Bryz will have a nice clear view of the cosmos, and his husky or whatever can be cold.

Bizarre. I have no doubt Giroux will get at least 6 points against them tomorrow.

"the devils defense is coming to fruition and the offense has gotten better too" 0-0 game in toronto 2mins into the 2nd period.

They won ONE game, against the flyers, who also shut out the devils a week ago, But you are spot on chico.

So far the Oilers have made a trade and signed a UFA, and I think they've managed to make themselves even worse while adding a total headcase to a locker room full of bratty kids.

kessel is the type of player id love the rangers to have. even when hes jsut stickin his stick out to reach for a hard pass it sticks to the tape lol.

What I don't understand about the Smid trade is that they traded one of their few players who really wasn't a problem on the team. Maybe they're trying to frighten the children?
