They are building a collection over there. Of those guys, I never thought I would see Cliche in the NHL. One of the last reps for the now gone Lewiston Maineiacs.

Talking about guys you never expect to see make the NHL, if the AHL affliate counts for the Avs as well, another connection, Mark Olver....the brother of no other than Darin Olver.

and again the Rangers got the wrong brother... maybe the Rangers should have kept Tommy Pyatt instead of signing Taylor Pyatt. Pyatt to Bolts for Pyatt :sarcasm:

this is amazing.. http://gocheckers.com/articles/344-manny-malhotra-helps-brendan-woods-again.html

"At the Checkers’ team-building paintball event two weeks ago, Woods lost an important personal item. It was a medal he wore, given to him by his late grandfather, which had been blessed by the Pope. Given Woods’ attachment to the item, it was a situation teammates had heard about and understood.

Enter Malhotra, the longtime NHL veteran who’s playing with the Checkers on a pro tryout contract as he attempts to prove that he can still play at the highest level. Without telling Woods, Malhotra, who had known the rookie forward for a little over two weeks, bought a metal detector, drove to the paintball field and searched.

When unable to find the medal, Malhotra told Woods about it, and the two returned to the field to look again on Wednesday. Together, they found it."

Manny should have stayed a Ranger.. remember this..

OMG....Torts still has a coaching staff and team that can't produce on the PP????? WUTTTTT. This is the new NHL. He has not been able to figure it out since he came back to coaching after the lockout in 2004-2005.

Rangers won the last two games because of their powerplay. Kreider scored the first one against the Isles. McDonagh ties the game in the 3rd period at the Coliseum. Brassard put the rangers ahead of buffalo last night. The Rangers rank 13th in the PP. Wonder why? And quite honestly its pretty simple how they do it, quick puck movement and shots with a man in front of the net, then quickly retrieving the puck to set up again. Now the Torts defenders may say 'well they're hockey players, these are basics, they should know that'....well then we wouldn't have coaches in the NHL. This team struggled on the PP under Torts the entire time he was here. He couldn't figure out to correct it for his players. And it wasn't just struggling, it was struggling and not being able to get the PP goals when they needed them most.

Sullivan must be pretty bad manning the power play if he was able to take a team with established talent and developed chemistry and make them suck on the power play so quickly.

Doesn't run the PP. Canucks PP was 22nd in the league last year.

Pretty much this.

Our SH% is stupid low right now, something like 7%. We're getting shots on net and there's good movement, Canucks are just having some seriously terrible puck luck. Not to mention we're not getting many PP opportunities (bottom 5 in the league with more games played than the other teams) so they don't get much time other than practice to use it.

I don't see why you guys not getting the calls really has to do with how good your PP is.

If anything all you have to do is score on one and you should have a higher Percentage then a team getting 6-7 calls a night
