How is Dea doing really well?

Dude has 1 goal in 2 games. He had 1 goal in 5 games for us last year. When he scores 5 goals in 6 games, quote me and tell me he's doing well. 2 games in and some 1 goal stat line...f*** that noise.

Also, Sheary was a solid EVS player, this was known, it was also known he was going to do well and likely be a 35-40pt player that he should be anyways. Nothing surprises me about him there. He's having a hot start though, could have a massive year.

I like his "let's just have fun" hockey mentality. Especially coming from him. That's wild to think.

edit: This game has great hits, saves, offense, speed, etc. It's a great game at 0-0.

I don't know... they are sending 4 guys in at times and there are a lot of chances for odd man rushes for the Jets.

And more insane goaltending. Hasek-like saves.

The thing about these hits (and I'm lumping in Wilson here) is that I deem them "unnecessary". Let's say the guy doesn't get hurt after being thrown down, it's deemed just a "strong hockey play". And what irritates me to no end is the ref is standing right there, at MINIMUM it's roughing as it's completely away from the play and again I'll reiterate the unnecessary portion of these hits.

Going back to Wilson for a bit, he absolutely KNOWS he can't get there before Sundqvist releases his shot so WTF is he doing except hitting a guy late without the puck? What's the purpose of hitting a guy like that, blindside? There is zero hockey reason in the context of the game for this behavior.

Yeah, Wilson keys in on Sundqvist while he's 5+ strides away and in the neutral zone. He knows he's gonna brain Sundqvist, puck or not, late or not, blindside or not. He just wants to get his chunk of flesh.

Matheson for sure wants to "teach the kid a lesson." It's all the same 80s, fragile masculinity, "look how tough I am" bullshit.
