If Crosby had won the Conn Smythe in 2008 and refused to accept it, people would have lost their minds. I bet McDavid gets very little criticism for this.
Did he even come out the last two games?McDavid winning the Conn Smythe is the right decision, but it's hilarious they had to cut out the audio because fans were chanting something like "bullshit"
Did McDavid even come out for the trophy?
Mate we were in 2008. Got revenge in 2009 and it made it sweeter to see the team get that revenge. Not gonna lie I'd be pretty inconsolable if the Pens came up just short like that.
He didn’t refuse to accept it…he’s wallowing in the team loss with his comrades…right decision…and it’s a good reason why that award shouldn’t be given to a player on the losing team…If Crosby had won the Conn Smythe in 2008 and refused to accept it, people would have lost their minds. There's that absolute wanker of a member here, Angrywank that still hasn't let it go and hates on every Pens related thread on the main boards for the handshake bs. Living rent free.If Crosby had won the Conn Smythe in 2008 and refused to accept it, people would have lost their minds. I bet McDavid gets very little criticism for this.

Well, Detroit fans would have anyway. They're still mad Crosby took 2 minutes to shake Drapers hand.If Crosby had won the Conn Smythe in 2008 and refused to accept it, people would have lost their minds. I bet McDavid gets very little criticism for this.
No, I think it's good sportsmanship and good manners to accept an award you've been given, even if it's not the one you wanted. He has months to wallow with his teammates. He didn’t refuse to accept it…he’s wallowing in the team loss with his comrades…right decision…and it’s a good reason why that award shouldn’t be given to a player on the losing team…
Oh I know. And revenge was sweet. I guess 08 didn't bother me that much because the core was still young so I figured they'd find a way eventually. And that Wings team was a juggernaut so it wasn't like the Pens choked.Mate we were in 2008. Got revenge in 2009 and it made it sweeter to see the team get that revenge.
Not to mention we lost with Hossa, when we got our revenge it was against Hossa.Mate we were in 2008. Got revenge in 2009 and it made it sweeter to see the team get that revenge.
Keith Tkachuk is a fat f***
What a gutless little turd.If Crosby had won the Conn Smythe in 2008 and refused to accept it, people would have lost their minds. I bet McDavid gets very little criticism for this.
No he doesn’t…all going their separate ways in a couple days…loss just happened…he shouldn’t be out there celebrating an individual award with Bettman…his teammates appreciate that he didn’t go out thereNo, I think it's good sportsmanship and good manners to accept an award you've been given, even if it's not the one you wanted. Eh I can't imagine coming out in his shoes to accept that.I'm not going to be critical of McDavid because I know losing game 7 is super rough, but to see him getting awarded the Conn Smythe by Bettman and just not show up to pick up the award was a bit weird. The fans are booing, McDavid doesn't come out to accept it and they just super quickly pan away from it
He absolutely deserved it though, just a weird presentation of it. Almost like it would have been better to not announce it and just mention it after.
They have 2-3 more years to contend imoOh I know. And revenge was sweet. I guess 08 didn't bother me that much because the core was still young so I figured they'd find a way eventually. And that Wings team was a juggernaut so it wasn't like the Pens choked.
Oilers though...their big guys are closer to 30 than 20. Time is running out on their primes. Hard to win those in your 30s.
