Montreal looks for real..same with Toronto.

Just shows you how completely random this league is and how much parity exist. Two teams that drafted in the top 5 last year are well on there way to the playoffs this year. While the top 2 teams last year are doing horrible and barely hanging onto 8th place.

My god the Colorado vs. Edmonton game was awesome. I love the pace, trading chances, and energy.

Jealous we don't have a team like that.

If the Kings continue to suck, it could be a potentially amazing draft for Columbus considering they have the Kings 1st rounder.

The Blues fight for every inch on that ice. They make you go through hell just to get a SOG. In that regard, they're the anti-Sabres. Buffalo is content to just sag back and let you fire away.

All seven games in the NHL yesterday were one goal games. We had three games that ended up 4-3 and three games that ended up 3-2. Unfortunately the Rangers and Capitals had to be different and couldn't break the dead-lock as the Rangers won the game 2-1. The 4-3 games had the away team winning. Too bad the Jets lost to the Bruins at home otherwise the 3-2 games would have had the home team all winning. All games played in the United States ended in regulation with the lone game played in Canada ended in a shootout.

So it was a very close Hockey Day In America yesterday. Ok, one game was played in Canada - what was up with that? Blues should have hosted the Canucks. Guess it was returning the favor as last weekend for Hockey Day In Canada - the Red Wings hosted the Oilers. At least the Blues won so all the United States teams won and we didn't have our day spoiled with a Canadian team win and we didn't give them a win like they did for us last week as the Oilers lost to the Red Wings.

I guess it's possible considering how few games their are, but really it shouldn't happen. I'd expect them to come on strong and probably make the playoffs again. They're only 4 points out of the final two spots and have 2 games in hand over those teams. The big wild card to me is whether Edmonton starts to turn it on a bit as I could really see that happening as the season progresses.

That was a fun game to watch. Love the western conference games.

Yep, and it's been that way since I started watching hockey. I guess part of it is I see those players less, so watching them play in a neutral situation is a treat (this is my first year having GameCenter Live as well), but really Western teams have played a more entertaining brand of hockey for a while now.

I agree. This is the first season I got Gamecenter as well, and I`m enjoying it quite a bit.

Lindy Ruff hockey.

That's barely an exaggeration either, dude is a huge proponent of the collapse, except he does it without the crease clearing defense, elite shutdown players and high-pressure, structured forecheck + puck pursuit schemes of the teams who implement that type of system effectively. As a result, we're an absolutely ******* possession team.

Throwing this out there: Should they still select All-Star teams to give the deserving players the honor despite there obviously not being an All-Star game? It'd be for the entire season rather than the first half as normal, but it'd be a similar amount of games in question. I think they should do it, perhaps by player vote rather than the typical fan vote since there won't be a game anyhow.

They already do the end-of-season 1st and 2nd team All-Stars. :dunno:
