OT: Around the NHL: Final stretch to the playoffs

Two things, first I did not see or hear about this until I listen to the 32 thoughts podcast this morning and I am floored by how awesome this was. Ovechkin is a living legend, I don't care if you don't like him or his team he is still an all-time great that commands immense respect.

Second, during the same podcast they talked about the immense respect that all players on Canada developed for Sid after being around him for a week and a half or so at 4 Nations. Like literally he has a cult following now among Canadian hockey players because of his pure awesomeness in everything he does.

I know this era will end but guys like 87, 71, 29, and 8 have made my early to mid adulthood hockey experience one I will always look back on fondly. My childhood hockey experience was defined by 66, 99, 33, 68, etc and I never thought it could be better but it has been and I'm not sure it will ever be better in the future.

I tip my cap to Ovi, he really has changed from the smug jerk he used to be. Classy act to pull everyone back onto the ice and shake MAFs hand. Hes done a lot of charity work the last while too.

And this is how we end up with Marner in FA. :nod: It would not shock me to see some of the high profile FAs look at Pittsburgh to play the next 2-3 years with Sid.

I have said this for awhile. We have been spoiled with how amazing Sid is as a player and human. We are gunna miss him when hes gone.

Bruins are starting to piss me off with their endless string of losses. Be nice if they'd win a f-ing game.

Flyers winning a few is good though. We might still catch them or Buffalo.

We just need to keep losing too in regulation and we’ll get sixth, maybe 5th if Seattle can do a bit better…

BOS plays BUF so someone's picking up 2 points. PHI also play BUF again. PIT plays BOS, have to lose that game.

Vegas might have an easier path, especially if they get Minnesota in the first round.
 
Sharks should be disqualified from the lottery with how pathetic they’ve been since trading Blackwood
 
Yeah, iirc, you only get docked for a win if you move up the draft board to 1st. If you finish last in the standings, and you end up 1st overall, it doesn't count against the "2 in 5 years" rule.
