Post-Game Talk: Duck Hunt - Leafs Win in Anaheim

Anyone noticing lately refs are blantantly not calling infractions that involve Leaf players?? OEL gets tripped right in front of a ref no call. Numerous times in LA our guys being hooked or tripped nothing. We’re lucky to get 2 Power Plays a game and then you flip over and watch the Panthers get 6 Power Plays against Utah. The reffing over the past couple of weeks has been atrocious
Refs getting in playoff form of course!

I’m not usually a conspiracy guy but you would almost think the league is looking after the Florida Panthers and trying to push them a bit for the division lead. I can’t remember the last time the Leafs had 6 power plays in a game and Florida was able to somehow get 6 this late in the year. Avoiding the TB-Florida series until Round 2 seems like a total “growing the game down south” type of thing Bettman would be into
Been like this forever. After that first series with Boston in 2017-2018 I knew there were gonna be 2 sets of rules in the playoffs for the Leafs and whatever team they play.

I think it was game 5 (?) Where Boston got 4 PP's in the 2nd half of the 2nd period when the Leafs got a 2 goal lead.

Good practice for us. Seriously, leafs should def be spending extra time and money and resources of PKing.. all jokes and conspiracies aside, data shows us , so we should embrace it and use it to our advantage.

In terms of calls, that was one of the most one-sided series in NHL history. Boston ended up with a 5-1 PP advantage at the end... And it still took them 7 games and abusing Jake Gardiner to win.

Leafs are ranked at 17th in the league in Penalty Minutes. We have 260 Penalties taken vs. 246 drawn. Our net differential of -14 is 23rd in the league.
Pretty sure that's one of the highest marks they hit in a while. Usually you'll find them in the 28-32 area with the tankers. In the last 10 years or so, the only other consistent contender with our insane level of differential is the Rangers.

Speaking of which, know why Colorado is constantly near the top of the league in GF? Leading the league in PP-PK differential for five years in a row will do that.

Heh listen I don't like how long it has taken him to build a team and his decision on Dumbass (another newbie but one who never played) put us back a few years .. and MLSE hired a newbie in Shanny which is on them too .. there is lots of blame to go around here .. but I can assure you with a 100% guarantee that Brendan is a true blue Leaf fan like me and you in his heart .. you can never ever ever stop being a fan once you get to be a fan as a kid .. and Brendan was always a HUGE Leaf fan from 1st time started playing road hockey on Hillside in Mimico .. he played on Faustina and Reps for years before da Knights .. everyone who played hockey and box lacrosse in Mimico can tell you da same thing .. never question where his heart is .. you can question his roster construction and GMs but not his heart
Yep, his heart is so true blue that he and his family's primary residence is in NJ of the USA, AND NOT in Toronto. It's like he's got one foot out the door on his way back to the NHL head offices in NY. Does Mimico not have any mansions that his family could live in comfortably?

If he was as big a Leafs fan growing up, you'd think he would have found a way to play for his beloved Blue and White during his playing career !!! A John Tavares he IS NOT !!!

Also, he only got the job in Toronto with our Leafs under a recommendation from Bettman !!! That speaks volumes to me.

If he really loves our Leafs, why does he keep silent about how slanted the refereeing is against our Leafs. It has become all too obvious that building 'ice hockey' in the USA is more important than fairness to one of it's premiere teams that also pays heavily into revenue sharing. The revenue sharing is money that props up the USA teams in non-hockey markets.

I'd also like to point out that the revenue sharing is money that is coming directly from the money that WE THE FANS pay to support our Leafs. I find it hilarious that revenue sharing makes it so that the Stanley Cup can find a good home in Florida never mind helping these teams to BEAT our Leafs !!!

JMHO.
