Listen, McDavid is clearly skilled but if he didn't have his speed would he still be so ridiculous? It just seems like Crosby is such a better all around player and it makes me wonder would McDavid be able to adjust his game if he had a knee injury?

The ability to make plays at that speed is what sets McDavid apart. Without the speed he is Scheiffele or whatever.

It looked like the two Rangers closest to the Blue line had started to flare out toward the points and that is when McDavid jumped into the zone with speed. So he was past them and they didnt get back in time to defend.

Its McDavid's speed that makes him great.
He has strong thrust and can quickly push.

I was curious how Dmitrij Jaskin was doing for Arizona and it's not pretty. Zero points in 9 games while averaging over 16 minute per game. Ouch.

Even more brutal is Chychrun: 11 games played, 24:49 per game, 0 points, -18

That might be the worst non-expansion team roster in a long time, yikes.

LOL @ kraken and coyotes

the kraken tie the game with 1 min left vs the Coyotes who then proceed to score 13 secs later. Grubauer and Schwartz are GARBAGE.

I love watching a good cripple fight game.

We have 4 players left from our 2016-2017 roster. 5 if you count Perron who left and came back. Other than that its Tarasenko (who we are shopping), Parayko, Barbashev, and Bortuzzo. Gone are Pietrangelo, Schwartz, Steen, Shattenkirk, Stastny, Berglund, Fabbri. Lehtera, Upshall, Brodziak, Edmundson, Bouwmeester, Paajarvi, Reaves, Jaskin, Yakupov, Gunnarson, Sanford, Hunt, Sobotka, Allen, Hutton, Butler, Copley, Lindbohm and Rattie. So we are again worse than Vegas.

Your post is the very epitome of what I was saying. I don't even know why I am arguing when you are making my point for me. "Trading fan favorite Reaves was terrible....just never mind that we did the same." "Vegas is terrible for trading away 3 first round picks...I'm going to go root for Tage Thompson, Dominik Bokk and Robbi Fabbri on the Blu....never mind." "Oh my god, poor Fleury, how could they trade him just because he couldn't get the job done...Screw Berglund, he had years and couldn't get it done." "Trading Colin Miller a year after signing? Gross....trading Sanford a month after signing...whatvevs, man." The double standard is palpable.
I mean if/when the Blues do stupid stuff, then I criticize it. There's not a double standard here. Generally, and for most of my time watching the Blues, they do right by the player. That's just they way Armstrong handles business. I didn't like the sign and trade of Sanford. I didn't like the trade of fan favorite Reaves. But more often than not, they either trade players to get a better opportunity, the player retires, or salary isn't going to work for the player and the team. I mean are you actually going to defend Fleury getting traded but him finding this out because of Twitter and not his GM?

We don't have to argue about it because it's honestly not worth it and we aren't going to agree. I don't hate you or dislike you for your opinion, but I definitely don't agree that the Blues are even close in the way they handle player trades or acquisitions compared to Vegas. I guess we'll just have to settle and agree in GDT's when Walman and Mikkola aren't playing well...

I wish nothing but future health and success for Jack Eichel. He's doing what's best for his health after hockey and I'm happy that he stood up for himself.

For Vegas, I wish nothing but famished dearth.
It seems like our fan base has a beautiful and irrational hate for VGK (self included) in a very short amount of time. And they’re not even a permanent division rival. Are they THIS hated by other fan bases too?

I hate them because the have no loyalty to their players or coaches. But that's just me.

I would love to see Gostisbehere continue his run he's on right now throughout the entire season. It would make Philly look absolutely silly.

He's honestly one of the bright spots on an overwhelmingly horrible team.

You mean like the one he already had to end the 2018-19 season?

"He suffered a tear of the posterior cruciate ligament, a torn meniscus and cracked tibia in the last game of last season against the Flames. McDavid decided against surgery and instead rehabbed it intensely all summer and was ready for the start of the 2019-20 campaign."

I don't expect McDavid to slow much before 30, but the toll of his injuries is probably going show itself if he fails to adjust his playing style into his 30s, relying more on his hockey IQ and positioning to offset losing a step.

Right now McDavid's game is predicated on speed, but he has the skill set and gifts to be relevant if he shifted his focus to other facets of the game. Crosby's game evolved from the eye popping offensive rushes in his 20s - McDavid will have a similar transformation eventually.
