I think Calgary could certainly enter a retool/rebuild.

Giordano is getting older, they seemed to have soured on Gaudreau and Monahan. The team just isn’t spectacular but has enough talent that it isn’t poor.

With Tkachuks contract the way it is, he could opt to bolt as soon as he’s UFA eligible (he has a $9M QO and if he accepted the QO he’d be a UFA the next summer).

Obviously I’m dreaming but man I’d love to see Matthew Tkachuk in a Blues jersey. Although I can’t imagine they ever trade him, he’s amazing.

Great quote from Gillis, former Canucks GM, shows huge insight into rebuilding teams: "Our core players needed to have living examples of professionalism and how to approach the game and why they’ve been successful through a long career. They had to learn to emulate that."
