This is absolutely blowing up in Vancouver right now by the way.
Looks like Pettersson is available
Allvin went on blast basically, Not sure what you guys would offer, or how seriously you would be interested, He would obviously need a Haul.
But, just thought I would share and get your guys opinions!
Not everyday a 90+ Center with great Defensive abilities becomes available.

Thoughts?

Make sure to show this to all you Nuck friends.
Sportsnet: You do have an out on that contract because Pettersson’s trade protection doesn’t start until next season. But is moving your 26-year-old star actually possible?

Allvin (smiling): Well, you know Jim's history.

I always thought they were kind of frauds dating back to 2022 but carried by a goalie and a powerplay. Now they're way beyond that and it's amazing to watch.

And they just signed their goalie to a billion dollar contract.
You love to see it

I have interest but don't think the Pens really have anything of significance to give up. Unless I'm missing something about injuries to certain Nucks players?

edit: fixed a typo

Elias Petters--MIKAEL GRANLUND! Your new shutdown 3C and PK specialist!

lol you joke but this top six is so trash that I'd take dude back in a heartbeat... I mean... in that role.

So nevermind I wouldn't take him back because the doof coach would just stick him at 3C again huh?

The Pens don't have anywhere near enough capital to get Pettersson.

I think that they do but they won't.

Erik Karlsson, 2nd, Blomqvist, O’Connor for Pettersson and Hoglander

I get the feeling that JR's petty enough to simply not want to deal with the Pens tbh. Which is fine, cuz while I think EP40 is a very good player, I think he's more of a Kessel situation than a guy you throw everything at acquiring to build around.

If it was like 2019 or so, sure. Throw everything not nailed down at Vancouver to see what happens. Think we're way past the point of trying to add a guy like that at all costs though.

Yeah I'm not saying they SHOULD do it and your point about JR pettiness is probably valid. I'm just saying were that latter part not a thing and they were in the position where that was a smart decision they probably COULD.

Multiple picks (including a first, of course), Pick, Groats and a combination of whatever else they can scrape together to match their ask would likely be close to the same package they'd get anywhere else IMO. I don't see any team giving up a young franchise or even possible star player for Pete but I could very well be wrong.

I mean... right off the cut the whole league knows they want to trade him. Already starting from a position of less leverage than you'd like.

I don’t think so, I don’t think he has hard feelings.

Not sure if this was said somewhere and I missed it, but with the new College Football Playoff format, will the Quarterfinals fall on New Years Day every year, thus pushing the Winter Classic up a day?

Every time I watch Bedard, I come away with the feeling that he’s probably better at every facet of the game than Sid was at the same age except for one. The game in the corners and along the walls.

There’s such a massive advantage for Sid when it comes to lower body strength/explosiveness that it makes Bedard look like a somewhat lesser prospect than Sid was. I’m sure the kid will figure it out, but it makes you really appreciate the skills Sid had, even if the newer prospects are much more flashy/skilled than he was.

I'd think Vancouver fancies themselves contenders and would want immediate help contributing help at the NHL level. Blomqvist might have some value towards that goal but obviously not nearly enough.
I could see a swap with Buffalo for Cozens and RD help. Maybe some odds and ends.
