The Oilers signed Mike Hoffman to a PTO because of course they did.

Hedman becomes the new Bolts captain.

f*** that guy. Never liked him after he hit Crosby headfirst into the glass from behind only 4 days after Sid took the infamous David Steckel elbow during the Winter Classic.

No one is discussing politics mate. Just shitty athletes believing in shitty things and empowering shitty blokes, the rest is for your imagination to piece it together.

The issue for me is that the dipshit medical staff that originally misdiagnosed Crosby in the first place, allowed him to be cleared to play when he should have never been back in the line-up so soon. Personally if I am blaming anyone, it's that dipshit medical staff at that time, which I'm not sure if they're still around with the team but yeah, no clue how the f*** he got cleared in the first place and that hit by Hedman probably caused more damage to his neck/whiplash issue.

Didn't his gf get cleared of the stuff regarding Karlsson and his wife? I always thought they cleared them. Originally when I saw some click bait headline for Oilers invite another controversial player, I thought they invited that racist twat DeAngelo.

Did he get cleared?

I don't remember hearing about it.

I'm pretty sure all the hoffman stuff was NOT settled officially. His wife was all mad that the other wives were not trying to be best friends via FB/IG so she was making posts warning of injury blah blah blah, and they traded hoffman to stop it. And that's like the last it was talked about.

The most the investigation said was IP addresses didn't match hoffmans wife... But then again, there was only an anonymous poster who the karlssons felt was her, making the posts.. .. As if IP addresses mean shit anymore anyway

So yeah... Who knows. Not guilty, not innocent. Not really settled.

I think I’m actually done with the league when Sid retires if they expand to 34 teams

That's an insane amount.

Boston was all about how they can turn any goalie into a good one, I think they should let Swayman sit to be honest, let a goalie from within come up and do f***ing great, they have a damn good goaltending system and coach. I'd just play Korpisalo and watch him do well and then be like ok Swayman, what were you saying? Have Bussi be the back-up.

Why was the last Around The NHL thread locked at 799 posts instead of 1000??? 🤔🤔

I don't get why they'd pick Gudas. Are they looking to tank again for another shot at a franchise player? Definitely, still have a shitty coach in place, did the bare minimum during the off season, yeah they're not trying to be better.

I thought it'd be Troy Terry actually. He's 27, has been a very good player for them for a while now and not a 34yr old that maybe has a couple of seasons left in him. I get they might be trying to move Fowler which would have made sense as the Captain as well but Gudas? Lol

The fact that Cronin (he sucks) is still their coach tells me they're still good with tanking until they land their Celebrini or Bedard etc.

I blame losers like Price and Eichel.

Also curiously finding out how many fellow Pens fans seem to have things in common with those two twats was a downer.

hopefully this is good. my understanding is the players and teams had no ability to edit it unlike the past few "docu series" we got.

Looking forward to seeing Connor lose his shit some more. Nice to see some emotion out of the guy.

Gonna be funny though when this is inevitably going to be used by some to say he's a better captain than Sid.

Can't wait to see Mcdavid being a cringe lord without the oilers having a final say for editing.

A great leader takes a little less so he can get his team more to win.

That ain't McBoringasshit.

He's "asking" for that. They will meet in the middle, so 9.5 or 10. I'd absolutely pay him that if he repeats last season.

Laine takes a wicked knee on knee hit, replays/slow-mo looked real bad. Visibly furious as he's carried off the ice and into the lockerroom. Wouldn't be surprised if it's a season ender. Dude cannot catch a break, man.

-edit-

I'm absolutely not one of these old school hockey fans who loves fighting and toughness obviously, but Pare trying to weasel out of fighting Xhekaj (and basically forcing Xhekaj to jump him) makes me hate Pare even more. Dude deserves to eat wood for that kind of shit.

The hit was an AHL scrub throwing a dirty as shit knee at a star NHL player (yes I know Laine has struggled, but still). That's bad enough as is. But when the other team rightfully comes to get retribution, you try to weasel out of the fight and refuse to accept the consequences of your actions? Absolutely gutless. That's showing a lack of respect for the game, even with how silly I normally find that kind of statement.
