It was cool when Tyler Seguin said "analytics are overrated" when someone pointed out had the Stars had a negative goal differential. I wonder if he sees the importance of goal differential now?

Analytics has nothing to do with this series. Better team is winning

Analytics are overrated and he expressed his opinion. Let's not forget his team is in the finals playing in the finals.

Teams that highly based on analytics are not. He's still right

radulov was going to kill somebody. Man nobody in this team gets pssed off. That's how u make a statement

Point getting paid less than Marner is a crime

Point cares about winning as a team, not "I want Matthews money!" Not like Point is exactly poor at $6.75 million x 3 on his bridge deal. In 3 years, he'll probably take a Kucherov deal to help his team again...meanwhile, Marner is probably rubbing his hands thinking in 5 years he'll try to hold the Leafs hostage again demanding $13 million plus per year as a UFA.

To think that Marner had the audacity to demand $9 million per on a 3 year bridge...that's disgustingly laughable...4 assists, 0 goals for Mitch Money...while Point has 11 goals, 28 points this post-season already! Kucherov already has 30 points this post-season, but somehow Mitch Money is too good for Kucherov's contract.

lol, he missed a hit and injured himself. Why would you be upset the Leafs don't make stupid plays like that?

He missed the hit, people miss hit all the time. But the fact that he did want to hit, from one of their top players on to one of Tempa's top players should tell you where his head is. He hits ( Point?) with that hit and it's lights out, possible turning point. A hit can have that kind of impact in a series

I know it's new to us and difficult for us to understand, hitting and intensity. Some Leafs fans have never seen this team actually play with any level of intensity

Goes beyond the points for me. Point just wants it. His intensity level is really off the charts. Mind you he also coming back from an injury. He took it to Chara, he took it to Islanders. Takes the hit to make a play and drives the net. That's what impresses me about him. Good old fashioned hockey player. He so reminds me of Doug Gilmour

That's ironic because Marner demanded the figures $10.893 million with 93 being a homage to Doug Gilmour...first, why the heck would anyone put that number on an overpayment of a contract and attach it to money and greed? That's mind boggling to me...he wants to pay homage to Gilmour? Maybe wear 93 and play like him? Marner is blowing hot-air up our a55es. Gilmour was feisty as they come and didn't back down from anybody when he played...I remember Gilmour would lose 10 lbs soaking wet after games in the playoffs.

TB deserves to be up, but Dobby hasn't been great today
Don't think there was much khudobin could do.

First 4 goals were all snipes by Tampas elite talent after his team left him out to dry.

Tampas not going to lose any games where you give their top 4 those chances

Tampa Bay's my number 2 team, and I think they represent a clear path and easy checklist for Toronto to follow in the years to come. Most glaringly, we're missing a Hedman. Now let's go get one.

I am not sure we exactly "need" a Hedman (aka Pietrangelo). If anything, I think we need a Vasilevsky more. A goalie who can outplay the other goalie; something Andersen has yet to do in 4 playoff series thus far.

Dallas has a great defense, but Khudobin is the reason they made it to the Cup Finals. Their defense was getting abused by both Colorado and Vegas, as you would expect when they have high end offensive talent, but Khudobin shut the door. Pittsburgh is another example where excellent goaltending was able to override a defense that was often not better than their opponents, and they were able to win 2 Cups. There have been many different structures of teams that have won Cups, but I can't remember the last time a team won a Cup without a goalie who was pretty much always the better goalie in the head-to-head matchup. I know Mrazek for Carolina last year and Jones for San Jose a couple of years ago often sucked, but they eventually got thumped in their respective CF's.

The Leafs have the high end talent on both offense and defense to win a Cup. There have been many different structures in regards to Cup winning teams, but we have all the requisite pieces outside of receiving that goaltending performance. If we are talking about ideal scenarios, the Leafs can find another guy like Muzzin (who is far less than Hedman/Pietrangelo but still great) to add to our defense and then we can find a way to round out our depth a little bit more. Maybe also find a goalie who can win us the requisite games in the playoffs too. From a pure strategic standpoint, that is probably better than adding Pietrangelo... However you are not going to turn down Pietrangelo if the right contract can worked out.

Tampa Bay seem to be a blueprint of what can happen when you get your RFAs/FAs to buy in with the notion of team above individual. Unfortunately, we seemed to have missed the boat on that.

Even with Prietro there's no way Leafs beats this version of Lightings
This version of the Lightning won't exist after this season. It was an all-in year before they are forced into changes.

Point has had a great playoffs, but he wasn't playing like this before he signed, or for most of the time since. Point is now entering his prime, and is playing with one of the best players in the world.

I love how TB, as a team, stands up and fights back. I love even more how the initiate. Fast, physical hockey is great to watch.
Too bad we didn’t get to a see a legit best of seven between them and Boston this year.

Brayden Point had 92 points last year was around points per game this year. This is who he is.
As much as he's playing with one of world best players, Tavares and Matthews are also top players in this league.

This goes beyond point production. Even that, Point has him covered
My problem isn't the points, my problem is elevating your game. Point has taken this team on his back after Stamkos's absence

Stamkos goal wasn't good, he's on his proper wing and it goes through him. If he's on his angle, it's a nothing chance and hits him in the upper body.

Last two were great chances that he didn't have much opportunity on. First goal was a good chance that he's guessing on, he never looked set from the awkward turnover
